Import and export

Transfer authored projects through packages; store ordinary documents through file uploads.

MyGuide 11 conversion supports one Guide or a background batch.

Access and limits

Guide export requires access to view the source Guide. Form and Course/Reference exports require edit access; their packages can include answer keys.

Importing requires an editable destination and an authoring-enabled workspace with capacity for the result. Each Guide, Form, or Course package upload is limited to 25 MiB (26,214,400 bytes). Guide and Form exports can be larger than their import limit; Course exports enforce the 25 MiB limit.

Package files can contain care content and embedded media. Store and share them with the same care as the source.

Preview before creating anything

1. Open the intended Library source and folder.
2. In More Library actions, choose Import Guide, Import Form, or Import Course or Reference.
3. Check the destination and select the matching archive.
4. Review the proposed name, contents, media findings, and any blockers.
5. Confirm only after the preview is ready and its warnings are acceptable.

Project imports automatically request a new preview when you change the destination. Wait for that preview before confirming.

Imports create separate items using destination access. They do not update the source or copy its sharing, completed runs, responses, or Reports.

Selecting or dropping recognized project files also opens import previews. See project file import for mixed selections and the queue. Ordinary JSON files do not automatically become projects.

Folder ZIPs use a separate preview and import flow. They keep partially completed items and offer resume. Their media validation is stricter than an individual Guide import.

Different media rules

A Guide import can repair or omit unsupported content and skip unavailable assets with warnings. Review the imported Guide before using or sharing it.

Form and Course imports require complete bundled authored media. Missing or unsupported media blocks import. A Course's external media and Catalog links remain external; import grants no access to the linked content.

If transfer fails

Follow the linked instructions for that package type. After a lost Form or Course confirmation response, retry the same upload and destination to recover the existing result. Check Library before starting another upload or repeating a Guide import. Reselect expired uploads only when requested.
