Download a Library folder as ZIP

Export a folder tree with files, editable projects, and templates, and understand the limits of the copy.

Download folder as ZIP saves a Library folder and its supported contents in one portable archive. Use it to transfer a folder tree or keep a local copy of authored content.

You need access to the folder and every included source. Forms require edit access for export because their packages include answer keys. Other project export permissions still apply.

Download the folder

  1. Open the intended Library source and folder.
  2. Select More Library actions > Download folder as ZIP. You can also use Download folder as ZIP in a folder's actions menu.
  3. Read the limits in the dialog.
  4. Select Download folder as ZIP and wait for preparation.
  5. Complete your device's download or save flow, then check the saved file.

The dialog opening does not itself start the download. If saving fails after preparation, use the offered download retry and check the device's download location.

What the ZIP contains

The archive includes nested and empty folders, ordinary files, Guides, Forms, Courses, and Guide templates. Projects contain their authored content and supported bundled media. Ordinary files retain their original bytes.

A CareMap folder ZIP retains folder names, colors, and icons. Folder cover images are not included. Duplicate or unsupported filename characters can produce adjusted names in the ZIP.

Archived content items are omitted. Missing original files, inaccessible sources, unsupported items, or incomplete project media can prevent the download; it does not silently produce a complete-looking copy of those items.

What the copy does not preserve

Import creates independent content in a destination Library. Folder membership, sharing grants, personal favorites, completed Guide runs, Form responses, learner progress, and Reports are not transferred by this folder workflow.

Use the destination's sharing controls after import. Keep the archive private when its contents include care information or answer keys. Access changes in CareMap do not withdraw a file already saved to someone's device.

Size limits

A folder ZIP supports up to 2,000 folders and items combined and a 100 MiB archive. Included project packages are limited to 25 MiB each; ordinary files retain the Library's 50 MB limit. Bundled media counts toward package and archive sizes.

A large folder can fail even if its individual files work separately. Download smaller subfolders or reduce oversized project media, then try again.

Use the saved copy

See Import a ZIP folder to recreate its hierarchy and editable projects. Uploading the ZIP through ordinary Upload Files stores an archive file instead of expanding the folder tree.

For a single Guide, use Export package. For a single Form, use its Download action.
