Import a ZIP folder into Library
Preview a folder ZIP and recreate its hierarchy, files, projects, and templates in an editable destination.
Import ZIP folder expands an archive into a new Library folder tree. CareMap project packages become editable projects; ordinary files become Library files.
You need edit access to the destination and a workspace that allows content authoring. Normal storage capacity and project requirements still apply.
Preview and import
- Open the intended Library source and destination folder.
- Select More Library actions > Import ZIP folder.
- Check Import into and choose the destination before selecting a file.
- Select Choose ZIP file and wait for upload and validation.
- Review the folder name, folder/item counts, and warnings.
- Select Import ZIP folder and keep the dialog open while progress advances.
- When Folder imported successfully. appears, select Open imported folder.
Choosing a file prepares the preview; the separate Import ZIP folder button starts creation. The destination is locked after the upload produces a preview. Close and reopen the dialog to choose a different destination.
Supported archives
A CareMap folder ZIP recreates its nested and empty folders, files, projects, and template types. Folder colors and icons are retained; folder cover images are not.
Regular ZIPs also work. If the archive lacks one common root folder, CareMap
creates one using the ZIP's filename. Standard .guide, .form, and .course
files inside a regular ZIP are treated as project packages, not ordinary
documents. They must contain valid CareMap exports with their media bundled.
A CareMap folder ZIP records item types, so an ordinary file whose name ends
in .form can remain an ordinary file. Do not rename unrelated documents to
project extensions.
Understand the result
Import adds a new root folder beneath the selected destination. It does not
merge into an existing folder or replace existing content. A conflicting
folder name receives a suffix such as (2).
The new content uses the destination's access rules. Source sharing, completed runs, responses, Reports, and learning progress do not become part of the copy. Review imported projects and their media before assigning or publishing them.
Limits and recovery
The ZIP must be no larger than 100 MiB, with at most 2,000 folders and items combined. Each project package is limited to 25 MiB and ordinary files to 50 MB. Highly compressed archives can also exceed the 128 MiB expanded-content limit.
Empty folders are supported; zero-byte files are not. Password-protected ZIPs and symbolic links are unsupported. Corrupt archives or missing project media must be corrected before import.
Closing the dialog pauses after the current batch. Completed items remain. Use resume and recovery to continue the same import without intentionally creating another copy.
