Create and edit a Guide

Create a Guide in Library, then build its sequences, pages, and blocks in the editor. You need edit permission in the destination folder and a workspace that allows authoring. Restore an archived Guide before editing it.

Create a Guide

1. Open Library and enter the folder where the Guide belongs.
2. Select Create > New Guide. Check the folder shown in Create in.
3. Enter a name and an optional description for a blank Guide.
4. To start from reusable content, enable Use template and select a Guide template. The selection supplies a name that you can change; the description entry is hidden once a template is selected.
5. Select Create guide. The new Guide opens in the editor.

A blank Guide contains Start and Page 1. Template creation uses the selected template's content. If the create button is unavailable, enter a nonblank name and, when Use template is enabled, select a template. Turn that option off if you want a blank Guide instead.

Add and edit content

1. Choose Guide > Guide settings to change the Guide's name and description. See Guide settings for its sections and the Form and Voice controls that save separately.
2. Choose Sequence > Add sequence for another flow, or stay in the current sequence. A new blank sequence includes one empty First Page.
3. Choose Page > Add page for another screen. Give it a useful name.
4. Select Add block, then choose Text, Media, Field, Flashcard, or an available saved block template. The chooser supports search.
5. After a built-in block is created, its Block Editor opens. Complete the content and settings, then select Save block.

Creating the block and saving its dialog edits are separate actions. Canceling unsaved Block Editor changes does not remove the already-created block. Use the block's delete action or available Undo when you want to remove it.

Use the Organizer to reorder pages and sequences. The editor controls guide explains selection and the menus on different screen sizes.

Understand saving

Structural actions, including creation and reordering, save when the action completes. Guide, Sequence, Page, and Block Editor dialogs keep their edits as drafts until you choose their save action. If closing offers Keep editing or Discard changes, keep editing to preserve work you still need to save.

Edit Text bodies and Field prompts in the Block Editor. An enabled Media caption and Flashcard question text also have on-page editors that save after a pause or when you leave that editor. Resolve save or conflict messages before navigating away. There is no whole-Guide Save button or separate Publish step. See saving and unconfirmed retries and device drafts for recovery.

Open Warnings and use Preview to test your changes. Preview does not create a Reports inbox record. Use Play from Library for a normal run.

If something does not work

• Create or Edit is unavailable: Check the folder permission, workspace authoring availability, archive state, and Usage.
• Template creation is unavailable: Select a matching template, or disable Use template to create blank content.
• Saving fails: Keep the draft open, check the connection, and retry the affected save. Read a conflict's choices before replacing either version.
• An edit was accidental: Check the action offered by Undo. Undo history belongs to the current editor session.
