Organize Guide sequences and pages

Use the Organizer to reorder, move, rename, duplicate, and delete Guide structure.

Use the Organizer to arrange a Guide without recreating its pages. You need edit access to the Guide's folder and authoring availability in its workspace. Structural changes save as their actions complete.

Open the right organizer

In the editor, choose Sequence > Organizer for the whole Guide. On a phone, Structure opens the same view. It lists every sequence and its pages, with page and block counts. Active and Current identify your selection; Start identifies the sequence designated to begin the Guide.

Select a sequence or page name to work there. Use Add sequence, or the Add page action beneath a particular sequence, to extend that part of the Guide. Done closes the Organizer; reordering does not wait for Done to save.

Choose Page > Page organizer for a focused list of pages in one sequence. That view also offers Rename, Copy, Duplicate, and Delete for each page. On extra-wide screens, the left outline supplies sequence and page drag handles directly beside the editor.

Reorder and move pages

  1. Locate the sequence or page you want to move.
  2. Drag its handle to the intended position using a mouse, touch, or pen.
  3. Drop it and let the change finish saving.
  4. Check the resulting sequence, page order, and selection.

In the whole-Guide Organizer or left outline, a page can move into a different sequence. Its source must keep at least one page. If you need to move its only page, add another page to that source sequence first. The focused Page organizer reorders pages within its displayed sequence.

For keyboard reordering, focus the handle and press Space or Enter to pick up the item. Use Arrow Up or Arrow Down to move; Home and End move to the ends of the current list. Press Space or Enter again to drop, or Escape to cancel. When moving a page in the whole-Guide list, an arrow past a sequence boundary can move it into the neighboring sequence when allowed.

Rename, duplicate, or delete

Use the selected item's Sequence or Page menu to rename, duplicate, or delete it. Duplication inserts the copy after its source. Renaming changes the label; use Make start sequence separately if you want to change the starting point.

Deleting a page removes its blocks too. Deleting a sequence removes its pages and blocks. Deleting the last page supplies a blank Page 1; deleting the last sequence supplies Sequence 1 with a blank page. Deleting the Start sequence makes the first remaining sequence Start.

Verify the result

After structural changes, review Warnings and Preview every affected route. Moving a sequence does not itself change which sequence is Start. A new order or duplicate is not proof that branching paths behave as intended.

If a move fails, check the resulting saved order and any error before trying again. Use available Undo promptly for an accidental change. Undo can be unavailable after related content changes elsewhere or after the editor session ends.
