Save Guide edits and retry unconfirmed saves

Understand dialog saves, on-page autosave, and a block save whose result is still unknown.

A Guide saves different actions at different times. There is no whole-Guide Save button or separate Publish step. You need edit access to its Library folder and a workspace that allows authoring.

Know what has saved

Where you workWhen the change saves
Add, delete, move, or reorder contentWhen that structural action succeeds
Guide, Sequence, Page, or Block Editor dialogWhen you use that dialog's save action
An on-page primary-content editorAutomatically after a pause, or when you leave that editor

Creating a built-in block saves its initial structure before the Block Editor opens. Canceling the dialog's unsaved edits leaves that block in the Guide.

Text bodies and Field prompts are edited in the Block Editor. Enabled Media captions have an on-page editor. Flashcard question text also currently has an on-page editor, labeled as a Flashcard caption; use the Block Editor for the card's question, answer, and other settings together.

The name checkmark and image/link dialog saves update the block draft. Finish with Save block. See Block Editor controls and inline-image recovery for unfinished operations that can prevent saving.

Form targets and cloud voice bindings use separate save controls within settings. Make start in Sequence settings also saves immediately. These do not wait for the dialog’s main save action, and Cancel does not undo a successful change. See Guide settings and Sequence settings.

A local recovery draft is an unsaved copy on this device. Seeing it in Drafts does not mean another device or player can see those changes.

Save a dialog

  1. Finish editing, then select its save action, such as Save block.
  2. Wait for the result. Uploads or other pending editor work can temporarily prevent saving or closing.
  3. Correct any highlighted validation problem and save again.
  4. If the dialog reports Changed elsewhere, compare the versions before choosing how to proceed.
  5. Check the saved content, then Preview the affected path.

Closing a dirty dialog can offer Keep editing or Discard changes. Keep editing to finish and save. Discard changes abandons that dialog's unsaved work; it does not undo an earlier successful structural action.

Retry an unconfirmed block save

A timeout or interrupted connection can leave the Block Editor unsure whether its save reached CareMap. The editor checks for confirmation and may show Retry unconfirmed save.

Keep the dialog open. Restore the connection, then use that button if needed. It retries the same submitted change safely. It does not submit text you typed afterward as a different version of that request.

When confirmation arrives late, the editor can stay open. Review the result: new edits made after the original submission still need their own save. A later change from another editor can also require comparison. Do not assume that a timeout proves the save failed or that an open dialog proves nothing saved. Download a device draft if you need a copy while resolving the problem.

Finish on-page edits

Pause to let the inline editor save, or leave that editing area to request an immediate save. Wait for Saving to finish and resolve any error or conflict. Leaving the Guide through its controls also checks pending edits; failed inline saves can keep navigation from proceeding.

The inline reset control discards unsaved primary-content changes in favor of the current saved content. It is different from Guide Undo.

If a save remains unresolved, keep the editor open and follow Guide editing troubleshooting.
