Guide templates
Save reusable Guide content and use it to create Guides, sequences, pages, or blocks.
Templates are reusable snapshots at four levels: Guide, Sequence, Page, and Block. A template can be inserted only at its matching level. Later source edits do not update it, and editing a template does not rewrite copies that already exist.
Create a template from saved content
- Open the source Guide in Edit and save the changes you want to reuse.
- Select the source sequence, page, or block when saving only that part.
- Choose Create guide template, Create sequence template, or Create page template from the corresponding menu. For a block, use Create block template in its actions.
- Enter a nonblank Template name and optional description.
- Select a Destination folder with Owner or Editor access.
- Select Create template and check the result in Library.
The destination defaults to the source folder when writable, or another available writable folder. Search the folder picker when needed. If there is no writable folder, resolve access before creating the template.
Creation takes the saved source content. Unsaved Block Editor or settings drafts are not a reliable way to change that snapshot. The template metadata dialog can retain its own unfinished details for draft recovery, but those details are not a saved template until creation succeeds.
Use the correct template type

Select a matching template and provide the requested new name. For a page or block, open its destination sequence or page first. After insertion, inspect the copied content and save any further Block Editor edits.
Template search includes names, descriptions, folder and source context. Results are based on accessible templates and can also include locally remembered entries. Do not assume every listed entry is currently usable: access, archive state, or source resources can change after it was listed.
You need write access and authoring availability at the destination. Using an accessible template does not require permission to edit the template itself. An archived template must be restored before insertion.
Check the new copy
Copied content receives new identities. Routes inside the copied structure can follow their corresponding copies, while references outside that structure still need review. Preview every path after placing a page or sequence in a different Guide.
Check images, audio, video, and speech as well. Some resources retain references; a template is not a complete independent media backup. Missing or inaccessible media can require replacement even when the structural insertion succeeds.
Maintain reusable content
Use Edit and manage templates for the dedicated editor's supported fields and Details/Review tabs. Use Copy and paste for immediate reuse without creating a named Library template.
If creation or insertion fails, read the message, verify the destination and template access, and inspect Library or the Guide before repeating an uncertain request. An archived or deleted entry can remain visible in remembered choices; restore or select a current template rather than assuming the picker proves availability.
