Guide settings and save controls

Set a Guide’s identity and cover, find behavior controls, and understand settings that save separately.

Open an editable Guide, then choose Guide > Guide settings. You need edit access to its Library folder and a workspace that allows authoring. Restore an archived Guide before changing it.

Set the identity

  1. In the Guide section, enter the Name and Description.
  2. Use Audience to describe the intended audience.
  3. Use Schedule for descriptive schedule wording, if useful.
  4. Choose Choose cover image, or change or clear an existing cover.
  5. Wait for an image upload to finish, then select Save guide.

Audience and Schedule are descriptive fields. Typing an audience does not share the Guide with those people, and typing a schedule does not create a recurring assignment. Use Library access controls for sharing and the assignment workflow for scheduled use.

The cover identifies the Guide in Library. Page backgrounds and Media blocks have their own controls; changing the cover does not replace them.

See Guide defaults for the settings whose effects depend on the player's preferences or a Sequence override.

Save Form targets separately

In Form mapping, choose Target Form, then Save Form target. Accessible active Forms are offered; editing the Form itself is not required. Selecting a Form is only the starting point: Field blocks need their mappings configured separately.

Changing or clearing an existing target asks for confirmation because it clears the current Field mappings. Review that consequence before choosing Change Form. A saved target change takes effect separately from other Guide settings; Cancel does not undo it.

Use Reset Form selection to abandon an unsaved selection. Save or reset the selection before using Save guide. If the current target is archived or unavailable, choose an active accessible Form and review the mappings before starting a new session.

Understand Voice and Completion

Changing a cloud voice in Cloud voice saves through the voice selector immediately. It does not wait for Save guide. Review its error or saving state; Cancel does not reverse a successfully changed binding. See Guide speech for voice preparation and playback.

Completion lets you set a Close-guide title, Close-guide message, and Close-guide actions: Report, Library, Replay, Home, or Close. At least one action remains selected. Save guide applies these changes.

These custom words and actions apply to an authored Close guide outcome. Ordinary Finish closes the player directly; it does not open this custom screen. Finish guide with a message has its own timed message before closing. To test the custom screen, save and trigger a Close guide outcome in Preview. See page outcomes. See completion and Reports.

If Save guide is unavailable

Check for a blank name, pending upload or Form-target save, an unsaved Form selection, or a Changed elsewhere notice. Resolve the specific message. Draft recovery can preserve ordinary Guide settings, but do not treat it as an undo for separately saved Form or Voice changes.
