Folders and navigation

Browse folders and move through the current Library source.

Folders organize the content inside a Library. A folder can hold other folders, Guides, Courses, Forms, templates, and uploaded files. What you can see or change depends on the current Library source and your access to each folder.

Move through the Library

Use the folder path at the top of the Library to understand where you are. The first button shows the current Library source, such as a personal, organization, or shared Library source. If more than one source is available, open that button to switch between Library sources.

The rest of the path shows the folders between the source and your current folder. Select any earlier folder in the path to go back there, or select a folder card or row to open it.

Create and manage folders

Use Create > New Folder when you have permission to add folders in the current location. Use More Library actions > Folder Details to review the current folder's access, grant type, presentation, and content count.

Folder action menus can include Favorite, Share, Publish, Presentation, Rename, Move, and Delete. The available actions depend on your folder role and the folder's state. For example, a root Library folder may not offer Delete, and a read-only folder may not offer authoring or management actions.

Share and leave folders

Folder sharing is available when you can manage that folder's members. In Folder sharing, members may show direct access or inherited access from a parent folder. If a folder was shared directly with you, the current folder menu may also offer Leave Folder.

Use View Options > Filter types > Folders to show or hide folders in the current Library view. Hiding folders only changes the display on your device; it does not remove content or change permissions.

Library search can return matching folders along with matching Library content. If filters hide every matching result, reset the type filters to show folders and other hidden results again.

If a folder is missing

Check that you are in the right Library source and folder path, clear or adjust search terms, and make sure folders are enabled in View Options. If the folder still does not appear, you may need folder access from an owner or someone with sharing permission.
