Change a folder's appearance

Give a folder a recognizable color, icon, or image and save its shared presentation.

Folder Presentation lets you choose a color, icon, or image to help people recognize a folder. This changes the folder itself, so other people with access can see the saved appearance.

Set a color or icon

  1. Find the folder in Library.
  2. Open its actions menu and select Presentation.
  3. Choose a Color.
  4. Open Icon and choose an icon, or Default folder.
  5. Review the preview and select Save.

You need edit access and a workspace that allows the operation. The Party color is available only after that theme has been unlocked for your account.

The appearance is used in folder cards, rows, and path markers where those surfaces show folder presentation. It does not rename the folder or change sharing.

Add or replace an image

  1. Open the folder's Presentation.
  2. Select Choose image, or Replace image if one is already selected.
  3. Choose an available image source and complete its selection or upload.
  4. Review the preview and select Save.

A folder image takes the place of the icon when available. The icon is the fallback when an image cannot be shown. Uploading a new image uses storage in the folder's workspace.

Remove or reset the appearance

Use Remove image, then Save, to stop displaying the chosen image while keeping the other choices.

Use Clear, then Save, to reset the color, icon, and image together. Clear changes the draft; it does not save immediately. Closing without saving does not apply your draft presentation.

An image upload is a separate operation from saving the presentation. Closing the dialog after uploading does not promise to undo that upload.

If saving fails

The dialog keeps the draft and displays the error. Check your current folder access, workspace authoring status, and available storage, then try again. If an image cannot load, reconnect and reopen the folder before assuming the saved image was removed.
