Media blocks
Add image, video, or audio blocks, choose sources, and check uploads, processing, and playback.
Use a Media block for an image, video, or audio recording on a Guide page. You need Guide authoring access and permission to edit its Library folder. Uploads and source searches require a connection; new files also need available workspace storage.
Add media
- Open the Guide in Edit, select its page, and choose Add block > Media, or edit an existing Media block.
- Choose Image, Video, or Audio under Media type.
- Use the pencil beside the block name to rename it, then confirm with the checkmark. The name is separate from its caption.
- Choose the source and complete its presentation or playback settings.
- Wait for the upload to finish, then select Save block.
- Wait for processing to reach ready, then Preview the complete page.
The source controls differ by type:

You can also drop one matching file onto the block's media area. Dropping files inside rich text instead uses the separate inline-image workflow.
Choose the right controls
Images have Alt text, optional caption, size, fit, fullscreen expansion, and an optional On tap action.
Videos have a caption, Auto-play on page entry, Loop video, and Muted settings. Browser and device rules can prevent autoplay.
Audio has a caption and player controls. An Audio Media block starts when the player presses play. For recorded narration, use the separate Speech settings.
Use Card for the surrounding block surface and alignment. See Block appearance. Captions support rich-text formatting.
Change or remove the source
Choose the image area again to replace an image. For ready video or audio, use Replace video file or Replace audio file; alternative source controls remain available. Remove image, Remove video, or Remove audio clears the block's source after you save. It does not delete the original file.
Changing Media type clears the old source and type-specific settings, including image actions and video playback choices. Existing caption text and shared Card/Speech settings can remain. Review all of them before saving.
Archive and Delete in the reusable-media picker are separate actions that take effect when confirmed.
Follow upload and processing status
Uploading is the file transfer; Save block is unavailable during it. Processing can continue after the transfer and after the block is saved. A filename or preview alone does not mean preparation has finished.
When the status reaches Image ready, Video ready, or Audio ready, check the actual Guide Preview. If preparation fails or the asset is missing, replace the source. For a failed transfer, restore the connection or storage allowance and choose the file again.
