Notes and Schedule
Reminders
Receive or manage supported reminders for scheduled work.
Reminders help bring scheduled Guides, Forms, and assigned Guide due dates back to attention at the right time. They appear with scheduled work in Home, Schedule, and Guide workbench views. On supported mobile or desktop runtimes, a reminder may also appear as a local notification.
Choose a reminder time
When you schedule content from Schedule or from a Guide's schedule action, choose Reminder in the schedule options. Available choices are:
- At launch
- 5 min before
- 10 min before
- 15 min before
- 30 min before
- 1 hr before
- 2 hrs before
- 1 day before
CareMap uses 15 min before when no other offset is selected. Recurring schedules use the same reminder offset for each projected occurrence. If one occurrence is skipped, marked done, or rescheduled, CareMap updates the reminder state for that occurrence only.
Guide assignments with a due date can also appear in Schedule as Assignment due work. Assignment due reminders use the assignment due time.
Read reminder status
Schedule cards show the reminder offset or a reminder summary such as No reminders queued, pending reminder, delivered reminder, snoozed reminder, acknowledged reminder, or failed reminder. When a reminder has a detailed health state, the card can show labels such as Pending, Delivered, Snoozed, Acknowledged, Retryable failure, Permission denied, or Subscription expired.
The Reminders count at the top of Schedule counts active pending, failed, and snoozed reminders in the current view.
Act on a reminder
- Select Launch from Home, Schedule, or the Guide workbench to open the scheduled Guide or Form.
- If a reminder notification opens CareMap, CareMap checks that the reminder still matches the schedule or assignment and that you still have access before opening the player.
- For assignment due reminders, use Acknowledge reminder to dismiss the reminder state without completing the assignment.
- For assignment due reminders that are still active, use Snooze one hour to move the reminder forward.
- If a reminder failed and Retry reminder is available, use it after fixing the likely permission, subscription, or connection issue.
Acknowledging or snoozing a reminder does not complete the Guide, Form, or assignment. Complete the work in the player, or use the available Schedule completion actions for supported recurring occurrences.
Availability and recovery
Reminder delivery depends on the active schedule or assignment, current access to the Guide or Form, subject visibility, and notification support for the current account and device. A reminder can become unavailable when the schedule is deleted, the occurrence is skipped or completed, the assignment becomes inactive, notification permission is blocked, or the subscription is expired or revoked.
If a reminder is missing or does not open:
- Confirm you are in the workspace that owns the schedule or assignment.
- Open Schedule and clear filters that might hide the item.
- Check whether the occurrence was rescheduled, skipped, marked done, or completed.
- Confirm you still have access to the Guide, Form, and person attached to the reminder.
- If device notifications are blocked or unavailable, use Home or Schedule as the reliable place to find and launch the work.
