Set up mobile and desktop reminders
Enroll an installed app, test mobile push, and understand local reminder limits.
Installed CareMap apps can provide mobile push or local reminders where supported. A browser uses browser enrollment instead. The page labels this area Packaged mobile reminders, including its controls for supported desktop local reminders.
Enroll the installed app
- Sign in to the account that should receive reminders.
- Open Settings > Notifications > Reminder enrollment.
- Review Native permission, Native push, Mobile local, and This device.
- Select Enable mobile, or Reconnect mobile for an existing enrollment.
- Answer the device's permission prompts and wait for registration to finish.
- Confirm This device is Enrolled and review the enabled-delivery notice.
CareMap uses mobile push when available and permitted. Otherwise, supported local delivery can be used when its permission is granted. A failed push registration does not silently become successful local enrollment.
If permission is Denied, change CareMap's notification permission in system settings and select Check setup again. A pending prompt needs your answer. Unavailable means the current app cannot provide that capability.
Test mobile push
When a native push destination is enrolled, select Send test in 5 seconds. CareMap schedules CareMap test notification and shows the scheduled time; you can close the app while waiting. The queued confirmation does not prove the notification arrived. Check the device for the actual alert.
This test is unavailable for local-only enrollment. The push service must be ready for real delivery. If repeated requests are temporarily refused, wait at least 15 seconds before another test. A permanently invalid destination can lose enrollment; reconnect the device after reviewing the error.
Understand local delivery
Local reminders are prepared from eligible upcoming work loaded into Home or Schedule for the current workspace. They are not an unlimited calendar of every workspace: CareMap prepares at most 64 eligible future local alerts at a time. Keep the app and schedule current after changes.
On mobile, prepared alerts are scheduled with the device. Desktop local alerts require CareMap to remain running; quitting or restarting can lose pending alerts. Do not assume unchanged alerts are restored after reopening. Open the work from Home or Schedule; desktop local banners do not provide the same Guide-launch action as mobile reminder taps.
Revoke or recover
Revoke mobile revokes the current account destination, not every device. Previously prepared local alerts may remain; disable CareMap notifications in system settings if they must stop immediately. Refresh the schedule when returning.
For capability details, open Settings > Mobile & Offline > Device readiness, then use Check again or Manage browser and mobile reminders. Readiness is a capability check, not a delivery receipt. If registration fails, reload setup and repeat the action; see notification troubleshooting.
