Guide completion and Reports

A real Play session can produce a Guide Report when you finish or leave. The Report preserves saved activity for later review. Preview is a test and never creates a Reports inbox record.

Finish and find the result

1. Check the session's About person when that control is available.
2. Save your Field answers and wait for required evidence to become ready. Resolve any current-page required-answer or draft prompt.
3. Use Finish guide, Finished in Simplified, or the authored ending.
4. Open Reports > Reports after synchronization and select the session.

Ordinary Finish closes the player. Finish guide with a message displays its timed message before closing. Close guide opens the author's custom completion screen and selected actions. Available handoffs can include the Report, person, Schedule, Home, or Library.

Do not replay because capture is still pending. Replay starts another session and can create another Report. Retrying capture for the original session does not require repeating its answers.

Finishing and leaving early differ

Leaving through the player's exit control captures saved work as a closed session rather than a naturally completed one. A custom Close-guide action also differs from Finish. A partial Report does not prove every required Field was answered.

Ordinary forward movement and finishing check required work on the current page. The optional Completion Review checks required Fields across the whole Guide before its Capture report action. Follow the prompts for the action you are using; these are not interchangeable completion checks.

For a Guide linked to a Form, natural completion can also submit the mapped Form answers. Closing early does not perform that completion handoff. See Guide-to-Form mapping.

Scheduled work

A completed Report can mark its launched schedule occurrence Done when the content, About subject, and current occurrence time still match. A partial Report does not complete it. Return to Schedule to check the result; see completion matching.

What is preserved

Reports can include the Guide, timing, launch source, About person, Recorded by person, saved answers included in Reports, evidence, visited pages, and routes. An answer can exist in the session while its method's Report-inclusion setting excludes it from Report output.

Playing or editing a Guide does not grant access to every resulting Report. Workspace, subject relationships, consent, and current Report access still apply. Changing About does not change who recorded the session.

Resolve capture problems

Where a status is shown:

• Report captured or Report saved means the Report exists.
• Report capture pending or Report pending means capture has not yet been confirmed.
• Report capture queued means work awaits synchronization.
• Report capture failed requires attention; use the offered retry and read the failure message.

Keep CareMap open and reconnect the same device. Check Settings > Mobile & Offline > Session Sync and retry when offered. If a local save failed while leaving, try leaving again while connected. Keep offline data until pending changes are resolved.
