Guide completion and Reports

Understand what a completed Guide records and where its Report appears.

Completing a Guide in Play captures a Guide Report after pending session changes finish syncing. The Report preserves the result for review in Reports. A Preview session is only a test and never creates a Reports inbox record.

Complete a Guide and find its Report

  1. Start the Guide with Play. Before finishing, check the About person when the session offers that control; Recorded by remains the signed-in person completing the Guide.
  2. Follow the Guide and save each Field answer. Required Fields must be answered, and required media evidence must finish saving, before CareMap can capture the Report.
  3. Continue until the Guide completion screen appears. Read the Report capture status, then choose Home or Replay.
  4. Open Reports, select the Reports tab, and open the completed Guide Report. The inbox initially shows the newest submitted Report first.

Do not replay the Guide just because capture is pending or queued. Replay starts a separate session and can create another Report.

What the Report records

A Guide Report can include:

  • the Guide, submission time, session timing, and launch source;
  • who the Report is About and who it was Recorded by;
  • saved Field answers that the Guide author included in Reports, with allowed photo, signature, whiteboard, or other evidence; and
  • visited pages, navigation events, and routes taken through the Guide.

An answer can be saved in the session without appearing in the Report when its Field method is not configured for inclusion in Reports. People who can play or edit a Guide do not automatically have access to every resulting Report. Report visibility depends on the active workspace, subject relationship, consent, and current Report access.

Closing a Play session before its natural end can capture the work completed so far as a closed session rather than a completed one. Preview completion instead shows Preview session and creates no Report.

Understand capture states

  • Report captured means the Report was saved in Reports.
  • Report capture pending means CareMap is still finishing the automatic capture.
  • Report capture queued means the device saved the work for Session Sync; capture continues after you leave the player.

Fix completion or capture problems

  • If completion is blocked, follow the review to each missing required Field. Wait for required evidence to finish, then try again.
  • If capture is pending or queued, keep CareMap open, reconnect the same device, and open Settings > Mobile & Offline > Session Sync. Refresh the status and use Retry when offered.
  • If the Report is not visible after sync completes, refresh Reports, clear filters, and confirm the active workspace and your Report access.
  • If CareMap says capture could not be saved on the device, leave the session again while connected. Do not clear offline data or uninstall CareMap while session changes remain pending.
