Resolve Guide edits that changed elsewhere
Compare your draft with saved changes, keep selected work, or reload the current version.
Another editor, another tab, or restored older work can leave your draft different from the current saved Guide. A Changed elsewhere notice asks you to decide how to continue. Keep the editor open until you understand the versions; refreshing first can abandon work you still need.
Compare before choosing
- Select Compare changes in the notice.
- Read Your draft and Server for the affected fields.
- Check whether the notice identifies overlapping changes or says the changes can be safely combined.
- Download a copy from Drafts if you need to preserve the version before making a decision.
- Choose the appropriate action below and check the saved result.
A changed revision alone is not a complete description of a conflict. Some changes affect different fields and can be combined; others edit the same content. The comparison is scoped to the editor you have open, not a history of every change in the Guide.
Keep mine and retry
Choose Keep mine and retry when your edited values should be retained. For the supported settings and Block Editor dialogs, CareMap combines your changed fields with the latest values for fields you left alone, then retries the save.
For example, your changed name can be kept alongside someone else's changed description. When both versions change the same field differently, keeping yours replaces that field's latest value.
Lists require extra care. A methods or options list can be treated as one changed value rather than merged item by item. Keeping your list may replace someone else's additions or reordering. Review the complete affected list and coordinate changes when both versions matter.
A new edit can arrive during the retry and require another comparison. The action does not permanently override other editors or reserve the Guide.
Reload server version
Choose Reload server version when the current saved content should replace your unsaved work in this editor. Review or download anything you need first. This is different from reloading the entire app.
For on-page primary content, comparison concerns that content and its alignment or editing type. Unrelated block metadata can update without asking you to replace your text. Resolve the inline notice, then wait for saving to finish before leaving.
If the item was removed
The notice can say that the item no longer exists. A Block Editor may offer Restore my version, which saves the block into the current active page. Check that page before restoring, especially if the original page was removed.
Page and Sequence settings do not offer that same direct restoration action. Use a retained compatible draft through Drafts recovery when available. Discard draft and close abandons the open draft, so download it first if you need its content.
If the save result is still unknown
An interrupted Block Editor save can show Retry unconfirmed save instead of an ordinary conflict decision. Follow unconfirmed save recovery: the editor checks or retries the original submitted change before deciding what newer edits still need saving.
