Options answers

Use Options when someone should choose one or more answers in a Guide Field. Authors need Guide edit access. For arranging every item into a sequence, use Order; for assigning items to groups, use Sort into categories.

Configure Options

1. Open the Field's Answer methods and choose Add answer method → Options, or select the existing method.
2. Under Options, choose Option to add an answer, or select an existing option to open Edit options.
3. Enter a meaningful Label. Optionally set Value, Icon, and Image. Add the other choices, then select Save in Edit options.
4. Under Option behavior, choose single selection or enable Allow multiple selections. Set Presentation to Grid or List.
5. Enable Allow Other text if people may supply their own answer. Customize Other placeholder, or leave it blank for the default hint.
6. Review Advanced settings, the Field's Response requirement, and any actions. Select Save block, then test in Preview.

Save in Edit options applies its draft to the block editor. Save block commits the changes to the Guide. Cancelling Edit options discards that flyout's unsaved changes after any discard confirmation; it does not undo earlier changes already applied to the block draft.

Use nested options for groups and sub-options. Nested methods are single-select. Configure the method's own button through chooser settings.

Labels, values, and limits

Every option needs a non-empty Label. Sibling labels must be unique, ignoring capitalization; different branches can reuse a label. Each sibling list allows up to 100 options, and a tree allows up to 10 levels.

Value is optional stored text, separate from the displayed Label. Explicit Values must be unique across the whole tree, ignoring capitalization. When duplicating a choice with a Value, change or clear the copied Value before saving.

For multiple selections, Min selections and Max selections constrain the confirmed answer. Non-empty Other text counts as one selection. Keep the limits consistent with the available choices. These limits do not make the whole Field required; set Response requirement separately.

Choose actions and visuals

A final single-choice option offers After selecting. Its configured action takes precedence over the method's After a successful submit action. Groups and multiple-selection options do not have per-option routing. Enabling multiple selection removes configured per-option selection actions; review them if you later switch back.

Check the result

Single-choice answers save on selection. Multiple-choice answers require Confirm. Follow choose, confirm, and change Options before sharing the Guide.

If saving the configuration fails, correct the highlighted label, Value, depth, or validation issue. For a mapped Form, every method and required option conversion must be compatible; see mapping compatibility.
