Choose, confirm, and change Options
Save single choices immediately, confirm multiple selections, and safely edit or reset an Options response.
The Options method in a Guide Field has different save controls for single and multiple selections. Select the method first if the Field shows an answer-method chooser.
Choose one answer
- Select the option you want.
- Wait for it to be accepted. The selected option shows a check and highlight; the other options remain available.
- To replace it, select a different option directly.
- If Done with response appears, select it to return to the method chooser.
There is no Confirm button for a single choice. Its configured action may run as soon as the answer is accepted, using the authored timing. Selecting the same accepted choice again does not create another answer or restart its action.
If Other is offered, type a non-empty response. In single-choice mode it replaces the selected option and saves after about one second without another edit. Leaving the flat Options input can also save it. For choices inside groups, see nested option paths.
Choose several answers
- Toggle every option that applies. Toggle it again to remove it from the proposed selection.
- If available, add Other text. It can accompany selected options.
- Select Confirm.
- Correct any selection-count error and confirm again.
Toggles and Other text are drafts until Confirm succeeds. They are not saved by waiting or simply leaving the controls. Confirm appears only with at least one selected option or non-empty Other response. Other counts as one selection for minimum and maximum limits.
After confirmation, only the confirmed selections are shown. With Return to response methods, confirmation returns to the chooser; otherwise the response stays open. A configured method action can run after acceptance.
Always confirm changes before leaving. If you edited an earlier answer without confirming, the earlier accepted answer remains the saved response.
Edit or reset
For confirmed multiple choices, choose Change → Edit selected options. This restores the selectable list with your existing choices and Other text, so you can revise them and select Confirm again.
To remove the entire Options response, use Change → Reset answer. When only a single-choice method is available, Change can reset directly without a menu. Resetting can leave a required Field unanswered.
Choose another method keeps this method's saved answer and lets you answer another way. Reset affects the current Options response, not other methods. Page-reset settings can create a new response visit.
Recover and check Reports
For a validation message, adjust the selected count or text before retrying. For a save failure, check the connection and choose Retry save. A failed reset keeps the accepted answer; use Retry reset when offered.
A selected highlight does not guarantee that server synchronization has finished. Check session synchronization when working offline or after a connection failure.
Included Report answers contain saved labels or paths and Other text, using the method's Report settings. Unconfirmed multiple-choice drafts are not new Report answers. Preview practice answers stay out of the Reports inbox.
