Agent citations
Open citations to see the source supporting an Agent answer.
Open citations to see the source supporting an Agent answer. Use them when you want to verify where a statement came from before relying on it, changing care information, or sharing the answer with someone else.
Open a citation
- In an Agent answer, select the citation or source link.
- Wait while CareMap loads the authorized source or citation surface.
- Review the preview, highlight, and location label shown in Citation evidence.
- Select Open in Library or Open in guide when you need the full source in context.
- Use Back to return to the Agent answer.
CareMap Help citations open the public Knowledge Base page in your browser. Workspace citations open only sources your account is currently allowed to access.
Understand the evidence view
The Citation evidence screen shows where the Agent found supporting information. Depending on the source, the location may name a document page, extracted figure, Guide image, Guide page, sheet and range, slide, table, or other CareMap source.
The access card helps explain why you can see the citation. It may show whether the source is in the current workspace or shared with you, who owns it, whether it is editable or read only, and the access basis such as Owner, Shared folder, Guardian, or Organization staff.
Some citations include a highlighted area on the preview. Treat the highlight as a pointer to the likely supporting passage or object, not as the whole context. Read the surrounding page, sheet, slide, Guide section, or Library item when the answer affects care instructions or other important decisions.
If CareMap says the stored highlight was hidden because the page geometry does not match the rendered surface, the source may still be usable. Open the source in context and compare the Agent answer with the current content.
If the preview or citation cannot open
Preview unavailable means CareMap could not show the visual preview, but the source may still be available. Use the open action shown on the screen, such as Open in Library, Open in guide, or Open image placement in guide.
Citation unavailable means the citation is missing, no longer current, or not available to your account. Refresh CareMap, confirm that you are in the correct workspace, and check whether the source still exists. If the item was shared with you, ask the Owner or organization manager to confirm that your access is still active.
If an Agent answer makes a claim without a citation, ask the Agent to search for sources or check the relevant content directly. Citations show what the Agent could retrieve at the time of the answer; sources can change afterward.
Ask for help with a citation
When you need support, include the workspace name, the Agent conversation or first question, the approximate time, the visible citation label or error, and the source type if you know it. Do not send private care content, screenshots with sensitive information, or invitation links unless your support channel is approved for that information.
