AI Report summaries

AI Report summaries use CareMap AI to create a short, high-level summary of an eligible Report. The summary is meant to help you scan a Report faster; always review the Report's answers, evidence, and events before acting on the information.

Where summaries appear

Open Reports, select a Report, and look for the CareMap AI section named AI summary near the top of Report detail.

When a summary is complete, CareMap shows the generated text in that section. When a summary is not complete, the section explains the current state and may show Generate summary or Refresh status.

Automatic summaries

CareMap can try to summarize eligible new Reports after they are recorded. Open Settings and review Automatically summarize new reports to control future automatic attempts for your account.

Automatic generation can be skipped when:

• the Report has no answers to summarize;
• automatic summaries are turned off for your account;
• the source Guide or Form workspace is preserving its AI-credit buffer;
• the required AI credits or CareMap AI are unavailable.

Skipped automatic generation does not remove the Report. You can still open the Report and request a manual summary when Generate summary is available.

Generate a summary manually

1. Open the Report detail page.
2. In AI summary, choose Generate summary.
3. Wait while the section says Generating summary.
4. Leave the page open or return later. CareMap refreshes the status, and you can choose Refresh status if the result has not appeared.

Manual summaries use the requester's personal workspace credits first. If the Report is about a person you are authorized to support as a Guardian, CareMap may use that person's workspace funding when your personal workspace cannot cover the full request.

Understand unavailable states

• No AI summary yet means the Report has not been summarized.
• Generating summary means a request is already in progress.
• Automatic generation was skipped means the Report is still available, but CareMap did not create an automatic summary.
• Insufficient credits means the required workspace could not fund the request.
• A summary is not available yet means CareMap AI could not complete the request right now; try again later.

The AI summary section is hidden when the Report evidence is redacted by consent or access rules. Voided Reports cannot generate new AI summaries.

Use summaries safely

AI summaries are concise and may omit details. They do not replace the Report, attached evidence, exported files, professional judgment, or required review steps. If a summary seems incomplete or surprising, compare it with the Report's answers and evidence before sharing or relying on it.
