Communication interpretations in Reports
Review non-authoritative interpretations of Guide responses, saved session preferences, recorder credits, and exhausted retries.
An eligible Guide response can show an AI-assisted communication interpretation beside Original response. The interpretation is labeled Non-authoritative: it can be inaccurate, and the original remains authoritative.
Review an interpretation
- Open a Report you can read and select Answers.
- Read Original response before the interpretation.
- Compare the interpretation with the captured wording and surrounding evidence.
- If work is pending, check the displayed status or return later.
- If attempts have run out and you are the recorder, select Try interpretation again when offered.
Other authorized Report readers can see the saved interpretation. It is not rewritten for each reviewer's preferences. Completed interpretations have no edit or regenerate control here. An interpretation that repeats the original after basic text normalization is hidden as redundant.
Eligible responses and preferences
Interpretations use nonempty typed responses or explicitly captured voice transcripts. Recorded audio alone, answer-choice labels, and generated captions are not treated as the person's words. Direct Form submissions do not use this Guide-response feature.
Generation needs the feature to be available for the recorder and an active, saved Communication preference with nonempty instructions captured for that Guide session. Editing preferences now does not replace the session's saved instructions.
Older offline sessions may lack that saved preference context. Missing, expired, or removed context can prevent interpretation while the original answers remain available. Refreshing today's preferences does not recreate historical context.
Credits and retries
New generation uses the Guide session recorder's personal AI credits. It does not use the reviewer's balance or switch to organization or Guardian funding. Reusing an existing matching interpretation does not require new generation credits. The Automatic report summaries switch controls whole-Report summaries, not this feature.
Temporary failures are retried in the background, up to eight attempts in a batch. The displayed next-attempt time is an eligibility time, not a guaranteed completion time. Only the recorder can start another batch after attempts are exhausted. Repeated clicks while work is pending do not start another batch.
Skipped or other failed states do not necessarily offer manual retry. For low credits, check the recorder's personal balance; adding credits alone does not restart a skipped interpretation. For unavailable historical context, rely on the original response. A failed manual retry leaves the original intact.
This feature does not transcribe an audio file on demand, correct a saved answer, or certify someone's intended meaning. See answer evidence for the surrounding captured record.
