Aggregate AI summaries and evidence
Review answer, field, and overall summaries, understand readable evidence, and verify claims against saved answers.
Optional aggregate AI adds summaries to the calculated snapshot. It is separate from whole-Report summaries and does not change the saved counts or statistical calculations.
Request and review summaries
- When creating an aggregate, review Use AI summaries and the funding estimate.
- Create the aggregate and follow its generation progress.
- In Summary, read AI summary and its status. Use Read full summary if only a preview is shown.
- In Results, select Explore field to review a field summary when available.
- Use Browse source responses and Read full saved response to review individual answer summaries alongside their saved text.
- Check claims against the counts, Timeline, and source Reports.
Use Show summary preview to collapse an expanded overall summary. Field summaries are not produced for every aggregate: smaller inputs can be summarized directly into an overall summary.
Understand the evidence
Individual summaries use the captured field label and readable answer. Readable evidence can be typed text, saved choice labels, a transcript, a filename, or an existing answer summary. It is limited to the aggregate's saved readable text; see response limits.
Aggregate AI does not open attached images, recordings, or files to inspect their contents. Readable text alone makes an answer eligible; eligibility is not evidence that meaningful media content was understood.
The overall summary combines calculated field statistics, missing counts, timeline evidence, and available answer summaries. Larger inputs are processed in groups and combined into field and overall summaries. A summary may therefore rely on earlier generated summaries rather than every original answer's full text.
If individual summaries fail, their statistical contributions can still appear while their narrative evidence is unavailable. A Complete status does not certify accuracy or guarantee every original detail appears. An aggregate with no eligible readable answers can finish without summary text.
Verify statements
Compare recurring observations with the actual distribution and contributing answers. Do not treat a summary as a new measurement, diagnosis, or correction to the source Report.
Aggregate summaries use formatted text. This view does not provide the same numbered source-reference controls as whole-Report summaries; use the field's source responses and Open source report to verify details.
The saved AI choice cannot be changed in place. Create another aggregate to enable or disable it. For incomplete output, costs, and retry decisions, follow aggregate AI credits and recovery.
