Profile Documents
Keep a current file and its replacement history directly on a CareMap profile.
Profile Documents keep a small set of current files directly on a person's profile. For example, a profile can show the person's current ISP. A file can use a preset type or an Other label such as Eyeglasses prescription.
Profile Documents are separate from the person's Care records documents and from Library files. They do not appear in a Library folder. When a file is searchable, the Agent can use its current content together with other content you are allowed to access.
Add a file
- Open your own profile or an available person's profile.
- Select the Documents tab, then select Add file under Profile Documents.
- Choose a preset type, or choose Other and enter a label.
- Choose a supported file and review its searchability message.
- Select Upload.
Only files that have been added appear in the section; CareMap does not show empty rows for every possible type. A preset such as ISP can have one current file per person. Adding that preset again is a replacement. Other labels do not have to be unique.
CareMap accepts the same stored-file formats as Library upload. PDF, DOCX, plain text, Markdown, and supported images can be searchable. Other accepted formats remain available to view or download and display Not searchable by the Agent.
View, replace, and review history
Select View to open or download the current file. If you have write access, select Replace to upload a new current version. A successful replacement does not erase the previous file: select History to review earlier versions, their upload details, and their authorized view action.
When automatic comparison is available, history also shows a concise summary of additions, removals, and changes between adjacent versions. A comparison can be pending, skipped, or failed without affecting the new current file. Comparison text is assistance only; the original files remain authoritative.
The profile owner's Agent preference controls automatic comparison. It runs only when enabled and when the owner's spendable AI-credit balance remains above the displayed credit cushion. The profile owner pays the file's personal workspace storage and comparison credits, even when an authorized contact or organization staff member uploads it.
Understand access
You can see Profile Documents only while your current relationship or role grants read access. Write access includes adding, replacing, renaming an Other item, and deleting. A profile owner can grant an arbitrary contact No access, View, or Write access. Guardian, assigned care-team, and organization responsibilities can provide access through their own current rules.
Access is checked again when CareMap lists, searches, views, downloads, or opens a citation. If a relationship ends or permission is removed, previously visible file details and Agent results are no longer available.
Delete a Profile Document
Select Delete, read the permanent-deletion warning, and confirm. Deletion removes the whole profile item: its current file, all earlier versions, search artifacts, and comparison results. CareMap does not restore an older version as current and does not keep an archived Profile Document.
If a comparison is finishing, CareMap may ask you to retry deletion after that short operation settles. This protects the profile owner's AI-credit account while still completing permanent deletion on retry.
If an expected file or action is missing, confirm that you opened the intended person, that your relationship is still active, and that you have the required Profile Documents access. A file marked not searchable can still be viewed but will not appear in Agent answers.
