Assignments

Review and launch Guide assignments available to your account.

A Guide assignment connects a Guide to a person so the work can be launched with the correct person and assignment context. Direct assignments follow your account across workspaces, but you see only assignments whose Guide and person are available through your current access.

CareMap currently provides assignment review and launch controls. It does not currently expose controls to create, edit, or archive Guide assignments in Home, People, Library, or Schedule. Use Schedule when you need to create new planned Guide work; a scheduled item is separate from a Guide assignment.

Find assigned Guides

You can review assignments in these places:

  • On Home, open For you and find Assigned guides. Each row shows the Guide, person, due date or No due date, status, and either assignment notes or who assigned it. If this section is hidden, open Home view settings from Customize Home and enable Assigned guides. Home shows up to five assignments; use People to review assignments for a specific person.
  • In People, select a contact and find Assigned guides on the person's profile. The row also offers Open guide and shows recent assignment activity when available.
  • An active assignment with a due date can also appear under Upcoming on Home and in the matching date range in Schedule. These assignment due rows are read only.

An assignment without a due date remains available under Assigned guides but does not create a dated Upcoming or Schedule row.

Launch an assignment

  1. Find the assignment on Home or the person's profile in People. You can also use its dated Upcoming or Schedule row.
  2. Confirm the Guide, person, due date, and status.
  3. Select Launch to open the Guide for that person.
  4. Complete and submit the Guide normally. CareMap keeps the assignment context with the session and resulting Report.

Submitting assigned work changes its visible status to Completed and removes its due row from active Upcoming and Schedule ranges. The assignment can remain under Assigned guides and can be launched again unless it has been archived.

Understand assignment status

  • Pending means the assignment has no due date or is due later than the next 24 hours.
  • Due soon means its due time is within 24 hours.
  • Overdue means the due time has passed without a recorded completion.
  • Completed means CareMap found a completed assignment session or Report.
  • Archived means the assignment is no longer active; its Launch control is unavailable.

When a due assignment has an active reminder, its Upcoming or Schedule row can also offer Ack and Snooze. Ack acknowledges the reminder, while Snooze moves it forward by one hour. These actions do not change the assignment's due date or status.

If an assignment is missing

  • Check Customize Home if the Assigned guides section is hidden.
  • Home shows only the first five assignments in due-date order. Open the intended person's profile in People when an assignment is not in that list.
  • In People, clear search filters and confirm that you opened the intended contact.
  • Confirm that you still have access to both the Guide and the person. Losing either permission removes the assignment from your visible list.
  • A due item appears in Upcoming or Schedule only while the assignment is active, incomplete, and inside the visible date range. Look under Assigned guides when it has no due date or is already completed or archived.
  • Refresh after reconnecting if a launch, completion, or reminder action has not updated its visible state.
