Add Catalog content

Add an accessible Catalog publication to Library or Learn.

Add Catalog content to Library when you want an independent copy that you can organize or edit. Add a Course or Reference to Learn when you want to use it as learning content. Both options require an active Catalog submission and an approved version available to you.

Add content to Library

  1. Open Catalog, then find the submission under Browse or My Content. Use Content, Courses, or References to narrow the results.
  2. Open the submission and review its publisher, description, and available Versions.
  3. Select Add to Library.
  4. Choose an available Version and a writable Destination folder.
  5. Select Add.

CareMap copies the selected version into the destination. The new Library content is independent: later Catalog versions do not update it, and it does not retain a connection to the Catalog submission. Your normal folder permissions determine whether you can edit or reorganize the copy.

A Course or Reference added to Library is a regular Library copy. It does not appear in Learn or track progress.

Add a Course or Reference to Learn

  1. Open Catalog and choose Courses or References. You can also open Learn and select Browse Courses to reach the Course listings.
  2. Open an active submission and select Add Course or Add Reference.
  3. After CareMap confirms the addition, open Learn to start or read it.

Learn uses the submission's current approved Catalog version. Courses can track lessons, assessments, completion, and certificates. References provide freely navigated Chapters without progress or certificates.

If the item is already in Learn, its Catalog action reads In Learn. When a newer approved current version is available, the action can read Update. Updating starts the Learn item over and permanently removes its current progress and assessment attempts; CareMap asks for confirmation first, and previously issued certificates remain unchanged.

If content or an action is unavailable

  • Clear Search Catalog, choose the correct content type, and remove an active publisher filter with Show all.
  • A public submission must be approved. A private submission appears only for its publisher and the Contacts or Organizations in its audience.
  • Pending, rejected, discontinued, and quarantined submissions or versions may not be available to add.
  • Add to Library requires a folder where you can edit content. Read-only folders are not listed, and workspace storage limits can prevent the copy.
  • Add Course and Add Reference require access to Learn and a current approved version. If either action remains unavailable, ask an administrator to review your content access or ask the publisher to check the submission.

See Add Catalog content for more Catalog-specific details and Enrollment and progress for what happens after an item enters Learn.
