Catalog
Add and update Learn content from Catalog
Add the current Course or Reference, resume an existing item, or deliberately replace its version.
Courses and References can be added to your personal Learn collection. Your account needs a License that allows content use. Access to an organization Catalog audience or a Library folder does not by itself provide that License.
Add the current version
- Open Catalog > Courses or References within Browse or My Content.
- Open an accessible, active listing and review its details and versions.
- Select Add Course or Add Reference once.
- Wait for the addition message, then choose Open in Learn or open Learn.
The initial Catalog action directly adds the current approved version; it does not open a version picker or ask for a Library destination. The current release must be approved and not discontinued.
Learn retains that exact published version. Courses track learning progress and assessment attempts, with completion and certificates where configured. References use freely navigated Chapters without completion or certificates. There is one Learn item per listing for your account.
Resume without replacing the version
Use Open in Learn to open the existing item with its selected version and saved progress. It does not enroll you again or accept an update.
In Learn is a status action, not the button for opening the item. If a different current approved version exists, Update can appear alongside Open in Learn. You can continue using the selected version instead.
Publisher discontinuation stops new additions and replacement versions but does not erase an existing Learn item or its progress. Learn still checks your account's content access. If Catalog access is lost, look for the existing item directly in Learn.
Replace with the current version
Update replaces the selected version with the listing's current approved release. It starts the Learn item over and permanently deletes its stored learning progress and assessment attempts. Previously issued certificates remain unchanged; they do not become certificates for the replacement release.
- Read the target release's details and changelog before selecting Update.
- If CareMap finds active progress or attempts, review the confirmation and choose Cancel to preserve them or confirm the replacement.
- Open the item in Learn after the replacement succeeds.
Without active progress or attempts, replacement can happen immediately. This includes References and completed Courses; do not rely on a confirmation always appearing before Update. The Library copy, if you also made one, is unaffected.
