Skip answers

Use Skip to let someone explicitly opt out of answering a Field. A saved Skip counts as a response to a required Field, but means Skipped, not that the activity was performed. It keeps answers and media already saved through other methods in the same Field.

Add and configure Skip

1. Open a Field in the Guide editor and choose Add method → Skip.
2. Customize the method's label, image, and other presentation settings as needed.
3. Optionally configure its after-submit action. No action is configured by default.
4. Review report inclusion and labels, save the Field, and test it in Preview.

When Skip appears among multiple answer methods, selecting its tile by touch, pointer, or keyboard immediately starts saving the skipped response. There is no second confirmation. An action runs only after the response is accepted, using the normal player timing and any authored delay. A failed save stays on the Field and offers a retry. An accepted offline response is queued for synchronization.

If Skip is the Field's only answer method, it shows an explicit Skip control. Opening the page never records an answer automatically, and none of that method's configured actions run, even after pressing Skip. This rule prevents sole-Skip pages from routing back and forth automatically.

Review or change a skipped response

Reopening a saved Skip shows its status without saving again or repeating an action. Choose Reset skipped response before intentionally submitting Skip again. Restoring or synchronizing a session does not activate Skip.

Included Skip responses appear as Skipped in reports and exports and are read as “Skipped” when answer speech is enabled. Other saved methods remain separate responses; Skip does not erase them. Normal method report settings determine whether the Skip response is included.
