Review a Guide session before capture
Inspect Preview report or Completion Review, understand counts and missing answers, and capture when offered.
Session review shows the answers and activity accumulated in a Guide run. Use Preview report while testing, or the review action on a Play completion screen when the Guide offers one.
Inspect the session
- In Preview, select Preview report. In Simplified Preview, find it under … > Guide controls.
- In a Play completion screen that offers review, choose its Report-review action to open Completion Review.
- Check Subject, start time, Fields answered, Answers, Report answers, Pages visited, Routes taken, and Last path.
- Read any Required answers before report capture list.
- Inspect the included answers and events, then close the dialog or use Capture report when available and ready.
Not every ending displays this dialog. Ordinary Finish can close the player directly. See completion and Reports.
Understand the counts
Fields answered counts Fields with a recorded response entry. A draft or incomplete response can still contribute to that count; it is not proof that all required work is finished.
Answers counts response entries. Report answers or Included answers counts those selected for Report inclusion. These numbers can differ because one Field can have multiple methods and some methods exclude their answers from Reports.
Pages visited counts distinct visited pages. Routes taken reflects recorded branch activity. Last path identifies the latest visited sequence and page. These describe recorded activity rather than a score or guarantee that every part of the Guide was visited.
The required-answer list checks Fields across the Guide, including pages you may not have visited. Each entry identifies its Field, sequence, page, and response methods. This whole-Guide review differs from current-page navigation guards.
Preview and real capture differ
Preview displays a live test review, including available evidence previews. No inbox output means it cannot create a real Report. Test answers and files disappear when you reset or leave Preview.
In Play, Capture report is disabled while required replies are missing or capture is in progress. Required media may also need to finish processing. Closing the review dialog alone is not the Capture report action.
Play review offers JSON to download the current review snapshot. That download does not capture a Reports inbox record or restore a session. Treat it as a copy of the review at that time.
If review looks incomplete
Save the response through its actual submission control, wait for media readiness, and reopen the review. A missing Report answer may be excluded by the method's inclusion setting rather than lost.
If capture fails, read the message and use Session Sync recovery. Avoid Replay as a retry: it starts a different run.
