Getting Started

Navigate CareMap

Use the CareMap sidebar, mobile toolbar, and workspace controls to reach available tools.

Home summarizes relevant work in the active workspace. Use the main navigation to move between the destinations available to your account, role, Licenses, and workspace.

Use Customize Home to choose which Home sections appear and arrange them for your account.

Choose a destination

On a wider screen, select a destination in the left sidebar. The active workspace appears at the top. Help, your account control, and Settings appear at the bottom.

On a compact screen, use the bottom toolbar. Select More to open the other available destinations, the workspace switcher, Account, Settings, and Help. From More, select Customize toolbar to add or reorder the destinations between Home and More, or select Reset to default. Toolbar choices apply on the current device.

Destinations can include:

  • Home for current work, favorites, invitations, and recent activity;
  • Library for folders, Guides, Forms, Courses, files, and templates;
  • Learn, Schedule, Catalog, Notes, Agent, Reports, and People when those tools are available; and
  • Admin or organization destinations such as Members when your role and active workspace provide them.

The heading at the top names the open destination. Search appears there on supported destinations and searches only the current area, such as Library, Catalog, Notes, or People.

Switch workspaces

  1. Open the control that shows the current workspace. It is at the top of the desktop sidebar or at the top of More on a compact screen.
  2. Choose your personal workspace or an available organization workspace.
  3. Check the workspace name and destination heading before continuing.

CareMap keeps the same destination when it is available in the new workspace. Otherwise, it opens Home and announces why. A suspended workspace is shown but cannot be selected. If a screen has unsaved changes, CareMap asks whether to discard them before switching; cancel the switch when you need to save first.

Understand what appears

Navigation is not the same as permission. CareMap hides destinations that are not available to your account or active workspace. Optional destinations can also be hidden on this device under Settings > Appearance > Features; hiding one does not remove its content or revoke access.

Some destinations have their own tabs, filters, or back controls after you open them. A Guide editor or player uses focused controls for that task; return to Home or Library when you are finished.

Get help or fix navigation

  • Select Help in the desktop sidebar or in More to open the public CareMap Knowledge Base in your browser.
  • If a destination is missing, confirm the active workspace, then review Settings > Appearance > Features. The destination may also require a role, License, or workspace capability you do not have.
  • If CareMap opens Home after a workspace change or link, use the workspace switcher and choose a workspace where the requested destination is available.
  • If search is absent, the current destination does not provide top-level search. Use that screen's visible tabs, filters, or controls instead.
