Workspaces and Access

Workspace-aware navigation

See why available destinations can change when you move between workspaces.

CareMap adjusts its navigation to the active workspace. This keeps workspace areas and organization controls aligned with the content, features, and access available to you there.

Check your current workspace

The workspace name at the top of the desktop sidebar, or at the top of More on a compact screen, identifies the active workspace. Check this name before opening or searching Library, Notes, Agent, Schedule, or Reports so you know which workspace context you are using.

When you switch workspaces, CareMap keeps the current destination open if it is available in the new workspace. Otherwise, Home opens and CareMap explains that the previous destination is unavailable.

Understand why destinations differ

A destination appears only when it is available to both your account and the active workspace. The visible choices can depend on:

  • the workspace's enabled capabilities;
  • your license and account access;
  • your role or management responsibilities in an organization; and
  • optional navigation choices saved on this device.

Organization workspaces can add an organization section with destinations such as Organization, Members, or Supplier. These controls appear only when the active workspace and your responsibilities provide them.

Seeing a destination does not guarantee every action within it. Read-only or limited access can leave an area visible while hiding or disabling editing, management, or other restricted actions.

Find destinations on smaller screens

On mobile and other compact layouts, the bottom toolbar begins with Home and ends with More. Destinations not shown in the toolbar remain available inside More when your access allows them.

To change the compact toolbar, open More and select Customize toolbar. You can add, remove, or reorder up to five configurable destinations. Removing one from the toolbar moves it to More; it does not remove access or delete content. Home and More stay fixed.

If a destination is missing

  1. On a compact screen, check More first.
  2. Confirm that the intended workspace is active.
  3. Open Settings > Appearance and review Features. A hidden optional destination can be turned on there when it is available to your account.
  4. If the destination is still absent, it is not available for the current workspace or your current access. Switch to an appropriate workspace, or ask the relevant organization owner or manager to review your role and access.

Opening a direct link cannot bypass these rules. If its destination is not available in the resolved workspace, CareMap opens Home instead.
