Account and Settings
Appearance settings
Choose the CareMap appearance and color options that work for you.
Appearance settings control CareMap's theme, colors, interface language, and optional navigation on the current device. Changes apply immediately and do not change workspace content or another person's view.
Open Appearance settings
- Open Settings from the main navigation.
- Select Appearance.
- Choose a mode, color, language, or feature preference.
Theme, language, and navigation preferences are kept on this device. Effects preferences are saved to your account and follow you to other devices.
Choose a mode and color scheme
Under Mode, select:
- System to follow this device's light or dark preference;
- Light to keep CareMap light; or
- Dark to keep CareMap dark.
Under Color scheme, choose Neutral, Teal, Blue, Purple, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange, or Custom. Selecting Custom reveals a hue slider; CareMap uses that hue while keeping its interface tones readable.
You can also turn on:
- Match sidebar to light mode to use a light desktop navigation sidebar while the resolved theme is light; and
- High contrast to use neutral surfaces and stronger outlines for clearer separation. High contrast uses a neutral sidebar for the active theme.
Choose the interface language
In Language, select System or a supported CareMap language. System uses the closest supported match for the device locale. The status beneath the selector shows both the displayed language and detected device locale.
Turn on Highlight translated text when reviewing interface translations. It outlines translated text and shows its language key when you point to it.
Show or hide optional destinations
Under Features, turn available destinations such as Catalog, Notes, Schedule, Agent, Reports, People, or Admin on or off. CareMap shows only choices available to your account, role, and Licenses.
Turning a feature off removes it from the desktop sidebar or mobile navigation on this device. It does not revoke permission, delete stored content, or block a direct link to an available destination.
Choose visual Effects
Under Effects, choose which visual treatment CareMap uses when an authored Guide choice or another supported event requests a Positive, Negative, or Neutral response. These account-scoped choices follow you across CareMap devices and do not change another person's treatment mapping.
See Visual Effects to configure category mappings, previews, size, intense treatments, and Reduced Motion behavior.
If the appearance is not what you expect
If System shows the wrong mode, check the device's light or dark setting. The light-sidebar option has no visible effect in dark mode or on mobile, and the hue control appears only with Custom selected. If preferences reset or do not remain after reopening CareMap, confirm the browser or device allows CareMap to keep local site data, then select the choices again.
