Appearance settings

Appearance settings control CareMap's theme, interface language, and optional navigation on the current device. They do not change workspace content.

Open Settings > Appearance, then choose Theme, Language, Features, or Effects. Theme, language, and feature visibility stay in this browser or app installation. Effects are saved to your account.

Choose a theme

1. In Theme, choose System, Light, or Dark under Mode. System follows the device's light or dark preference.
2. Under Color scheme, choose Neutral, Teal, Blue, Purple, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange, or Custom.
3. With Custom, finish adjusting the hue slider to keep the chosen color.
4. Optionally enable High contrast for clearer visual separation.
5. On desktop, enable Match sidebar to light mode if you want a light sidebar when CareMap is in light mode.

The sidebar option does not apply in dark mode or on mobile. Some additional appearance options, such as Party or tap confetti, appear only after they are unlocked.

Choose the interface language

In Language, choose System or English (United States). English (United States) is currently the available interface language. System uses a supported match for the device locale and falls back to English when there is no match. The status shows the displayed language and detected device locale.

Highlight translated text outlines translated interface text and shows its language key on hover. It helps review translation coverage; it does not translate your Guides or other authored content.

Show or hide optional destinations

In Features, switch available destinations such as Catalog, Notes, Schedule, Agent, Reports, People, or Admin on or off. Some choices depend on your permissions or Licenses.

Turning a destination off hides it from navigation on this device. It does not delete its content, revoke access, or block direct links you can already use. Turning it on cannot grant missing permissions or Licenses.

Choose visual Effects

Open Effects to map Positive, Negative, and Neutral feedback to the visual treatments you prefer. These choices follow your account. See Visual Effects for previews, size, intense treatments, and reduced-motion behavior.

If a preference looks wrong

When System gives an unexpected mode, check the device's appearance setting. The hue slider appears only for Custom. If local preferences reset after reopening CareMap, check whether the browser keeps site data, then choose them again. Changing the app theme does not replace colors explicitly authored into a Guide; use Guide presentation for personal Guide defaults.
