Courses and Learn
Recertify a completed Course
Start a fresh learning run of a completed Course while keeping previously issued certificates.
Recertify starts another learning run of a Course you have completed. It is available before or after the previous certificate expires. Your account still needs content-use access.
Starting again does not extend or replace an existing certificate. Completing the new run issues another certificate.
Start another run
- Open Learn > Completed.
- Find the Course and select Review.
- Check Recertification version. Keep the selected version or choose another available Course release.
- Select Recertify when you are ready to begin.
- Return to Courses if needed and open the active Course.
- Complete its lessons, required Quizzes, and final exam if one is configured.
Recertify starts immediately; there is no separate confirmation dialog. Changing the version picker alone does not start the new run.
What changes
The Course moves back into active learning. Lesson completion, Quiz passes, assessment feedback, and the saved position start fresh for the new run.
The regular Learn screen now shows that active run. It does not keep a second Completed card for the prior run or offer a run-history picker. Previously issued certificates remain available in Certifications; use Certificate history to select them.
You must earn completion again even if you chose the same release and remember the answers. An earlier certificate does not satisfy the new run's lessons or assessments.
Choose a version
The currently selected Course version can be used again. Choosing a different release requires an accessible active Catalog listing and an approved, non-discontinued Course version.
A Reference release cannot be used for recertification. If the picker offers a version that cannot start, keep the existing Course version or choose another available Course release.
A newer release may change the lessons, questions, passing requirements, appearance, or certificate expiration. Earlier certificates keep the version and dates associated with their original completion.
Distinguish recertification from Update
Recertify creates another learning run. Catalog Update replaces the Learn version and deletes stored learning progress and attempts. Update can apply immediately to a completed Course because there is no active progress to confirm.
Use Recertify when your intention is to repeat a completed Course. Review version changes before using Update.
Recover a problem
If Recertify is missing, confirm that the item is a completed Course. References and active Courses do not offer it.
If the action fails, check account content access, the connection, and the selected release. Reopen Learn before retrying an uncertain request: the Course may already have returned to Courses.
If a certificate does not open after the new completion, check Certifications. An error opening the certificate does not by itself mean completion failed. See Course certificates for status and export options.
