Publish new versions and find Library sources

Capture updated owned content and locate a release's current Library source.

A Catalog release is an unchanging snapshot. To distribute edited content, publish a new version of the intended submission.

Publish a content update

  1. Save the updated content in Library.
  2. Open the submission in Catalog > Publishing.
  3. Choose New version, directly or under Manage submission.
  4. Select the owned Library content for that publisher. Check its type, name, and location.
  5. Optionally add a label and changelog explaining the change.
  6. Select Publish v# and wait for success.

CareMap assigns the next version number. The source can be another owned item; it does not have to be the original item. Choose deliberately so the release matches what the listing promises. A content update leaves the listing title, description, category, tags, cover, and screenshots unchanged.

You can also choose Publish to Catalog from Library, then Update existing submission, select a matching submission, and Continue. This route fixes the selected Library source and offers active submissions with the same publisher and content kind.

When the version becomes available

A private version becomes current immediately. For an approved public listing, the version gets its own pending review and becomes current when approved. Older approved versions remain available until discontinued.

If the overall public submission is pending or rejected, a new version is saved for that publication's review. After rejection, separately select Resubmit for review when corrections are ready.

Unfinished Course setup, unavailable captured assets, or unfinished authored Guide speech can prevent capture. Individual Guides offer Force-publish without pending generated speech; using it leaves those generated resources out of the snapshot permanently. Prepare speech first when publishing a folder containing Guides.

Find the source of an existing release

In the submission's Versions list, publishers can select Open Library source. The accompanying Source at publication name describes the captured source. The action finds its current folder, which may have moved or been renamed, and opens that Library folder.

The current source can differ from the released snapshot. Opening it neither edits nor republishes the release. Source access requires both publisher authority and current Library view access.

  • Archived or removed: restore the source in Library if possible, or choose another owned source for the next version.
  • Unavailable: it was deleted or your Library access changed; ask its owner for access or choose another source.
  • Not recorded: that older release has no usable source reference.
  • Could not find the source: check the connection and retry the source action.

Existing Library copies do not update automatically. Learners choose whether to replace their Learn version.
