Discontinue and restore Catalog content

Stop new additions to a listing or older release while retaining existing copies and Learn items.

Discontinuing Catalog content stops new additions without deleting existing Library copies or Learn items. You need current Publisher permission; managing an organization submission also requires Manager access.

Discontinue the whole submission

  1. Open the private or approved public submission in Catalog > Publishing.
  2. Choose Discontinue, directly or under Manage submission.
  3. Check the Discontinued badge.

The listing leaves ordinary Browse, and new additions to Library or Learn are unavailable. Existing independent Library copies remain. Existing Learn items, including progress, remain usable subject to the learner's normal License.

The action takes effect immediately. It is not the same as rejecting a review, removing a private audience grant, or permanently deleting the listing.

Restore a submission

Open Catalog > Discontinued, find your submission, and choose Restore. This returns its lifecycle to active. Existing visibility, review state, and individual version availability still apply. Restoring the listing does not approve pending work or automatically restore an older discontinued version.

A pending or rejected public submission cannot be discontinued through publisher controls. Use the appropriate review action.

Stop additions of one older version

  1. Open the submission and its Versions list.
  2. Find an older approved version.
  3. Choose Discontinue version.

That release is no longer selectable for new additions or Learn replacements. Other available releases remain. The current version cannot be discontinued individually; publish an appropriate replacement or discontinue the whole submission.

Use Restore version to make the older approved release available again. Restoring an older release does not make it the current release.

Understand quarantine

Admin quarantined means an administrator has changed the listing lifecycle. The publisher cannot restore it. Ask a CareMap administrator to review it in Catalog administration.

Quarantine removes the listing from ordinary Browse and stops new additions. It is not a guarantee that every previously authorized viewer can no longer see its listing details or existing Learn item. My Content and saved access can still expose retained content.

If an action fails, reopen the submission to check its current status and your Publisher authority before retrying.
