Catalog publication types

Catalog publications are immutable versions of supported content from a publisher's Library. CareMap determines the publication type from the source you choose; you do not select a separate type.

Supported types

• Folder packages a folder hierarchy and its supported active contents as one publication. Use it when the items should stay together.
• Guide publishes an interactive Guide.
• Form publishes a standalone Form.
• Template publishes a reusable Library template.
• File publishes an uploaded Library file.
• Course publishes a lesson-based learning item. In Learn, Courses can track progress, assessments, completion, and certificates.
• Reference publishes chapter-based learning material for free navigation. References do not track completion or issue certificates.

Every supported type can be added to Library as an independent copy. Courses and References can also be added directly to Learn. Adding a Catalog version does not create a live link to the publisher's source.

Choose the right source

When you create a Catalog submission, first choose the Publisher, then choose Library content. The source list shows each item's type beside its name. Publish a Folder when people need the whole group; publish an individual item when they should be able to add it separately.

Publishing captures the source as a version. Later changes in Library do not alter that version. Publish a new version when the source content changes. Courses and References must be ready for use before they can be captured.

If content is missing or cannot be published

• Confirm that you have Publisher permission. Organization publishers also require Manager access.
• Choose the publisher that owns the content. Shared or read-only content does not appear as content you can publish.
• Check that the item is active. For a Course or Reference, finish any setup items shown in its builder before trying again.
• If a Folder fails to publish, review its active contents too. An unavailable file or image, or an unfinished Course or Reference, can prevent the Folder version from being captured.
