Catalog publication types

Catalog captures a version of supported Library content. The source determines the publication type; the publishing dialog does not have a separate type field.

Supported sources

Folder	The folder hierarchy and supported active contents below it.
Guide	The Guide's authored content and captured resources.
Form	The Form definition, including configured answer keys.
Template	A reusable Library template snapshot.
File	An active Library file and its stored content.
Course	Lessons and configured assessments for learning.
Reference	Chapters for freely navigated reference material.

Folders capture supported active items; they are not an export of every kind of workspace record. Archived items and files hidden from Library are excluded from the publishing source list and folder contents.

Every supported publication can be added to Library as an independent copy. Only a Course or Reference published as the listing's own source offers direct Learn enrollment. Publishing a folder containing Courses does not turn the whole folder into a Learn item.

Choose the owner and source

1. Open Catalog > Publishing > Create Catalog submission.
2. Choose Publisher.
3. Choose Library content and check its type, name, and location.

For a personal publisher, the source must be in a personally owned Library folder. Shared view or edit access alone is insufficient. Organization content belongs to its organization publisher and requires Manager access. Each publisher also needs Publisher permission through its licensing.

The organization workspace root itself is not offered as a Folder publication; choose an eligible folder below it or an individual item.

Source location helps distinguish similarly named items. Location unavailable means the location details were not supplied; it does not by itself prove the content is missing. Reopen publishing from Library to reload current source details.

Prepare everything included

Save your source changes before publishing. Courses and References must satisfy their builder's readiness requirements. A folder can fail because one included Course is unfinished or a captured image or file is unavailable.

For Guides, unfinished authored generated speech can block capture. Prepare the speech first. Individual Guide publication offers a force-publish option that omits unfinished generated speech; folder publication does not show that option.

A release is a snapshot. Later Library edits do not alter it. Use New versions and Library sources to publish a content change or locate the current source.
