Recover from Agent editor errors

Resolve unsaved drafts, changed selections, failed editing groups, and refresh errors in Guide and Form Agent.

Check saved content before repeating a Guide or Form Agent request. A failed save, rejected editing group, and failed editor refresh mean different things.

Recover in order

  1. Read the error and expand the affected tool activity.
  2. Check whether any earlier editing group succeeded.
  3. Preserve unsaved local work before reloading or replacing the editor view.
  4. Resolve the save, access, storage, selection, or content problem.
  5. Reopen or refresh the intended item when needed and inspect what is saved.
  6. Ask Agent for only the remaining change, naming its destination.

The message cannot be sent because saving failed

Guide Agent attempts to save drafts registered for automatic saving before sending. That does not finish every open dialog. Form Agent waits for pending builder changes to save and stops the send if saving fails.

Finish open dialogs explicitly. Keep the editor open, read its save message, and resolve the connection, permissions, storage, or validation problem. For Forms, use Retry save when offered.

These save attempts also occur before read-only questions. Asking Agent about an unfinished local draft is not a substitute for finishing that draft.

The Guide, Form, or selection changed

A competing edit can make an editing group out of date. Agent can reread current content and try to prepare an updated group, but it may still need you to refresh and send a new request.

If a selected page, block, section, or field was moved or deleted, select the intended destination again. Do not ask it to force an old plan over newer work.

Use Guide draft recovery or Form draft recovery to preserve local changes before accepting the saved version.

Agent finished, but the editor did not refresh

A refresh error can occur after the server saved the change. Check current content after safely reopening it before repeating creation or deletion.

If Form Agent reports that it changed the Form while unsaved local edits were present, preserve those edits before reloading. The builder does not merge the two versions automatically.

After a successful Form refresh, the notice that Undo history was cleared is expected. Review the updated Form and make a specific correction if needed.

An editing group failed

An invalid setting, missing media, unavailable target, lost access, or storage limit can reject the group. None of that group's operations are kept, but earlier successful groups remain saved. Fix the stated cause or use the normal editor for an unsupported change.

For an uncertain send or interrupted response, use Check response status and response recovery before retrying. For missing Agent service or credits, follow Agent availability.
