Configure Package grants
Choose capabilities, storage, and monthly AI allowance and understand their effect on holders.
Grants define the capabilities and quantities a Package supplies to licensed personal or organization workspaces. Global administrators edit them in Admin > Access > Licensing > the Package > Grants.
Choose grants
- Select the capability checkboxes needed for the Package.
- Enable Storage capacity or Monthly AI credits if needed and enter their quantities.
- Review automatically selected prerequisites.
- Select Review impact for an existing Package.
- Review affected holders and changes, then select Confirm revision.
For a new Package, finish Properties and use Create Package instead.
| Grant | What it supplies |
|---|---|
| Use Guides, Forms, Courses, and Learn | Content-use capability. |
| Use AI | Explicit AI permission, independent of monthly credits. |
| Create and edit content | Content-authoring capability; includes content use. |
| Codex Guide Authoring | Guide project authoring capability; includes content authoring and use. |
| Catalog publishing | Capability to publish eligible content. |
| Use Notes | Notes capability. |
| Create and refresh Report Aggregates | Aggregate-report capability. |
| Unlimited Guardians | Removes the License limit on Guardian designations; personal accounts only. |
| Storage capacity | Workspace storage allowance entered in GB. |
| Monthly AI credits | Allowance used when allocating cycle credits. |
A License does not replace folder permissions, organization roles, feature prerequisites, or ownership requirements.
AI is off unless an active Package explicitly supplies Use AI. Existing Packages do not gain it automatically, and selecting monthly credits does not select AI permission. Account grants govern interactive AI; organization grants govern automatic processing of organization-owned content. Organization role Packages can explicitly supply AI to individual accounts.
Dependencies and quantities
Selecting Codex Guide Authoring selects and locks its content-authoring and use prerequisites. Selecting content authoring selects and locks content use. To remove a prerequisite, first turn off the grant that requires it; then review the remaining selections.
Storage accepts nonnegative GB with up to six decimal places. Monthly AI credits must be a nonnegative whole number. A quantity of zero adds no allowance; enabling its checkbox alone does not supply usable capacity.
Unlimited Guardians prevents assignment to organization workspaces. A Package used by organizations or selected as the global Base must remain compatible with both target types; incompatible revisions are rejected.
Understand the impact
Capabilities combine across active Packages: a capability stays enabled while another active Package supplies it. Storage and monthly-credit quantities add across distinct Packages. Repeated sources of the same personal Package count once.
Grant revisions apply to active holders without editing each License. Review impact shows changed grants and warnings for reductions or removed capabilities. Other Packages may still supply the affected benefit.
Changing monthly AI allowance does not top up the open cycle. It changes the allowance used at the next allocation reset. Issuing a new monthly-credit License can trigger a reset; see assignment effects.
For unexpected results, Refresh, check the recipient's Effective grants and current Usage, and confirm which Package and workspace supply the benefit.
