Set the global Base Package

Configure or clear the default capabilities supplied to accounts and organizations.

The Base Package supplies default capabilities to accounts and organizations. A global CareMap administrator configures it in Admin > Access > Licensing.

Use a dedicated Package for this global default. A Staff or Client role Package has a different purpose: it supplies personal benefits only while that organization relationship qualifies.

Set or replace the Base

  1. Create an active Package with the intended grants.
  2. In Licensing's Base Package section, choose it from Package.
  3. Select Save Base.
  4. Check the current and proposed Package in the confirmation.
  5. Select Confirm Base Package.
  6. Check the displayed current Package and refresh a recipient's Licenses to review its effective benefits.

The Base must support accounts and organizations. Packages containing Unlimited Guardians are excluded because that grant is account-only. Later revisions of the configured Base must remain compatible.

The change applies as recipients next refresh or synchronize their Licenses. Saving the configuration does not immediately create an assignment row for every account and organization. Current holder counts therefore do not describe every potential future Base recipient.

Understand the resulting Licenses

A newly supplied Base License costs $0 and has no expiration, regardless of the Package's ordinary defaults. Its source is Global Base Package. Individual rows have no Correct terms or Revoke action.

If a recipient already has a direct License for the same Package, CareMap keeps that assignment instead of creating a duplicate free Base row. Its existing terms remain. An organization-role source can coexist with a Base source; the same Package's benefits still count once.

Keep Main plans and Add-ons separate from the global Base. A Package classified as either cannot become the Base, even if it appears in the selector or its listing is unpublished. Choose a compatible Regular (internal only) Package instead.

Clear or change the default

Choose another Package, or No Base Package, then use Save Base and Confirm Base Package. Obsolete Base-managed assignments move to history when recipients synchronize. Independently assigned Licenses remain.

Capabilities may decrease if no other active Package supplies them. A newly created Base License with monthly AI credits can also refresh the current-cycle allocation; review Usage after the change.

If a save fails, use Refresh and inspect the configured Package before retrying. Before retiring the current Base Package, replace or clear this configuration. Retirement will otherwise be rejected.
