Manage code sets
Review and manage public code-set images used by supported authoring surfaces.
Code Sets is an administrator-only catalog for public reusable PNG images. Supported authoring surfaces can browse these images as Code-set images and save the selected image with the Guide, Form, or other content being edited.
CareMap does not currently expose full vocabulary governance in the Admin screen. Field answer choices are still authored directly in the relevant Guide or Form editor; this page is for managing the shared image catalog those editors can offer.
Open Code Sets
- Sign in with an administrator account.
- Open Admin > Content > Code Sets.
- Use the Admin search field to narrow the catalog by visible image details.
- Select a sortable heading, such as Name, Description, Tags, or Explicit, to change the table order.
- Select Load more when more matching images are available.
If you are not an administrator, CareMap shows Admin access is required and does not load the Code Sets table.
Review catalog rows
The table is labeled Admin code set images. Each row can show:
- an image preview, or a fallback icon when no preview can load;
- the image Name and its group or source label;
- the Description, or No description when it is blank;
- up to three visible Tags with a count for additional tags;
- an Explicit checkbox; and
- an edit action.
The section description shows how many images are loaded, the total available, and the active search text when you are filtering the catalog.
Add or edit an image
Select Add code set to create a new catalog image, or use a row's edit action to update an existing one. The editor fields are Group, Name, Description, Tags, Explicit, and PNG image.
Use a short, recognizable name and a group that helps authors find similar images together. Enter tags as comma-separated terms. Mark Explicit only when the image label and preview should be treated with extra care by the people maintaining the catalog.
New catalog images require a name and a PNG file before Add code set is available. When editing an existing row, CareMap keeps the Current public PNG unless you choose a replacement. If the selected file is not a PNG, the upload is too large, or the upload cannot be verified, choose a valid PNG and try again.
On narrow screens, the editor opens as a full-screen dialog with the same fields and actions.
Delete with care
When editing an existing image, select Delete to open the confirmation dialog. Confirming removes the row and removes the public PNG if one exists. Cancel if you are not sure the image should disappear from the reusable catalog.
Because authoring surfaces can reuse Code Sets images, avoid deleting a row until you have confirmed it is no longer needed. Audit history can help review who changed a catalog image and when.
Use images while authoring
In supported image pickers, choose Code-set images to open the vocabulary catalog. You can search images, filter by All categories or a specific group, and select a result. The picker shows the image label and group so authors can choose a meaningful visual, not just a filename.
If a search returns No code-set images found, clear the category filter, try a broader search term, or ask an administrator to add the missing public PNG to the catalog.
Escalate with safe details
When something does not work, record the visible row name, group, search term, selected file type and approximate size, visible error message, and the time of the attempt. Do not share private care details, credentials, raw storage paths, or temporary upload links through an unapproved channel.
