Add and update Code Set images

Upload PNG vocabulary images, edit their metadata, recover a partial save, or delete a catalog entry.

Global administrators can add shared vocabulary images in Admin → Content → Code Sets. Use images suitable for a shared catalog; this is not a private profile-document upload.

Add an image

  1. Select Add code set.
  2. Enter a Name and, optionally, Group and Description.
  3. Enter image Tags as comma-separated keywords.
  4. Set Explicit if appropriate; it classifies the image but does not hide it.
  5. Choose a file under PNG image and inspect the preview.
  6. Select Add code set and wait for saving to finish.
  7. Check the resulting row and preview.

A new entry needs a nonblank name and a file before its save button is available. Use a PNG with a .png filename, larger than zero bytes and no larger than 20 MiB (20,971,520 bytes). A different format renamed to .png is not a substitute for a usable PNG.

Keep metadata within the saved limits

FieldSaved limit
Name140 characters
Group140 characters
Description1,200 characters
Tags32 distinct entries, up to 64 characters each

Long values are shortened when saved; extra Tags are dropped. Review the saved details if you entered lengthy text.

Group is optional. Reusing a group name places the image with that category; names that differ only in capitalization or punctuation can resolve to the same group. Leaving Group blank makes the image uncategorized.

Edit or replace

Open the row's edit action, change the fields, and select Save changes. To replace its image, choose a new PNG before saving.

Without a replacement file, Current public PNG is retained. Editing a catalog row does not automatically replace images already chosen in content. Review those destinations separately; choosing the same catalog entry again can reuse an earlier image.

Recover a partial save

Details save before the image upload. If the upload fails, the row or metadata may already exist.

For a new entry, the editor changes to editing that saved row. Choose a valid PNG and use Save changes to retry on the same entry. Avoid creating a duplicate. Cancel closes the editor but does not undo details already saved.

If the catalog refresh fails after saving, reopen Code Sets and inspect the row before repeating the change. A missing preview alone does not prove the metadata save failed.

Delete an entry

Open its editor, select Delete, review the confirmation, and select Delete again. Cancel retains it.

Deletion removes the catalog row and attempts to remove its attached PNG. There is no Restore action. Existing content may use that image, so review those uses first. Deletion is not a way to replace images in their destinations or guarantee removal of every earlier copy.

Use Audit to investigate recorded changes.
