Account and Settings

Authentication settings

Manage supported sign-in methods and account security.

Authentication settings let you verify your email and manage the ways you can sign in to CareMap.

Open Settings, then select Account. The Account security card shows your email and verification state. The Sign-in methods card lists the active methods available to your account.

Verify your email

If Account security shows Needs verification:

  1. Select Send verification link.
  2. Open the link delivered to your email address.
  3. If you received a verification token instead, enter it in Verification token and select Confirm token.

CareMap changes the status to Verified after successful confirmation. If a link or token has expired, request a new verification link and use the newest one.

Accounts without an email show Magic-key account or No email on this account instead of email-verification controls.

Add email and password sign-in

  1. In Sign-in methods, select Add sign-in method.
  2. Select Email/password.
  3. Confirm the email address and enter a password that meets the displayed requirements.
  4. Select Save method.

CareMap returns to the method list and confirms when the method is saved.

Add or manage a passkey

When your browser and device support passkeys, Passkeys ready appears and Passkey is available under Add sign-in method. Select it, then complete the device prompt. CareMap adds the new passkey to the method list.

Open Method actions beside a passkey to Rename or Remove it. The passkey details may show whether it is synced or device-bound, whether it is backed up, and when it was added or last used. Availability and prompts depend on the browser, device, and passkey provider.

The External identity section appears only when CareMap has an enabled provider. Select the Link action named for that provider and complete its sign-in flow. A linked identity shows its account details and last use when available. Select Unlink to disconnect it.

Remove a sign-in method safely

Open Method actions beside an email/password or passkey method, then select Remove. CareMap does not let you remove your only active sign-in method. Add and test another method before removing one you rely on.

If an authentication action fails

Read the message shown below the account cards and retry after correcting the value. For a passkey, keep CareMap open and complete or cancel the device prompt before trying again. If passkey controls do not appear, use a supported browser and device or add Email/password instead. If your session has expired, sign in again before changing account security settings.
