Settings suggestions

Use the email activation and passkey cards at the top of Settings.

The main Settings page can show suggestion cards above the first settings group. These offer account actions when they apply to you. They are not shown inside individual settings sections or Settings search results.

Activate your Email

This card appears when your account has an email address that is not verified.

  1. Open the main Settings page.
  2. Select Resend on Activate your Email.
  3. Check the result shown on the card. If CareMap reports that the email was sent, open the activation link in your inbox.
  4. Complete verification, then return to CareMap.

Sending the message does not activate your email by itself. Use the newest link: requesting another supersedes the previous one. The card has no Dismiss action and disappears when your account is recognized as verified.

If you already verified in another window but the card remains, Resend can check the current state, confirm that the address is already activated, and refresh your account session. An email-delivery error remains on the card for retry; it does not mean the message was sent.

Accounts without an email do not show this card. See Verify your email for the Security settings alternative, token confirmation, and missing-message recovery.

Add a Passkey

This card appears after CareMap has loaded your passkeys and confirmed that:

  • the current browser or device supports passkeys;
  • your account has no saved passkeys; and
  • you have not dismissed the suggestion in this browser or app storage.

Select Add a Passkey, then complete the fingerprint, face, screen-lock, or other prompt offered by your device. The card disappears after the passkey is successfully saved. If the prompt is canceled or registration fails, review the message and try again when ready.

Dismiss hides the suggestion for this account in the current browser or app storage. It does not disable passkeys or remove a sign-in method. Another device, cleared local data, or unavailable local storage can make the suggestion appear again. You can add a passkey later through Settings > Account > Security > Add sign-in method, when supported.

The desktop app currently does not support passkey creation or sign-in. Use a supported browser or mobile device. See Add and manage passkeys.

Why no suggestions appear

Both cards may be absent because the actions are already complete or do not apply. A passkey load failure also prevents the passkey card from appearing; check Account > Security for the method list and any error. Suggestion cards are hidden during passthrough. Return to your own account to manage its sign-in methods.
