Workspaces and Access

Personal and organization workspaces

Understand how personal and organization workspaces keep content and access organized.

A workspace keeps CareMap content, navigation, and access rules together. It is the context you work in, not a separate account: one account can have a personal workspace and access to one or more organization workspaces.

Choose the right workspace

  • Use your Personal workspace for content owned by your account. Its Library includes My Library and any shared Library sources available to you.
  • Use an entry under Organizations for content and work that belong to that organization. Its Library is limited to the organization workspace.

To change the active workspace, select the current workspace at the top of the desktop sidebar. On a compact or mobile screen, open More and select the current workspace there. Then choose your personal workspace or an organization.

CareMap keeps the current destination open when it is available in the selected workspace. Otherwise, it opens Home. The workspace name shown in the sidebar or More identifies your current context.

Understand what changes

The active workspace determines which workspace content, searches, and actions you can use. Switching does not move or copy content between workspaces. Content shared directly with you remains a shared Library source inside your personal workspace; it does not become another selectable workspace.

Available destinations and actions can differ between workspaces. They depend on the workspace's enabled features, your license, your organization membership and role, and whether access is read-only. Organization controls such as Organization, Members, or Supplier appear only when your responsibilities allow them.

If something is missing

First, confirm that the intended workspace name is active. If shared content is missing, return to your personal workspace and check its Library. If an organization is missing, ask an organization owner or manager to review your membership and access.

A workspace marked Suspended remains listed but cannot be selected. A Read-only label means you can enter the workspace but some editing actions are unavailable. If the expected workspace is active but an area or action is still unavailable, ask the relevant owner or manager to review your role and workspace access.
