Preview and download Report evidence

Inspect media and text previews, distinguish playable audio from originals, and save captured evidence files.

Use previews to inspect evidence and download controls to save an available file. A processed preview and the stored original can have different formats.

Open and save evidence

  1. Open the Report and select Answers or Form submission.
  2. Locate the saved photo, drawing, signature, recording, or upload.
  3. Open the image preview, use the audio/video player, or select Open preview when offered.
  4. Select the appropriate download control described below.
  5. Finish the browser download, desktop save dialog, or mobile share/save sheet.

Downloads require current access to the evidence. Saving a file does not create a public Report link or give another account access to the live Report.

Guide images, drawings, and signatures

Guide photo and drawing evidence offers Download original (format). This saves the representation stored by CareMap, not a resized preview. Captured photos may have been normalized before storage, so the file format or extension can differ from the file originally selected on the device. A Whiteboard download contains the saved drawing, not just its background.

A captured signature shows its drawing and available signer/time details. Download signature (SVG) saves the captured signature as an SVG image. It is a separate evidence file, not a complete signed Report.

Audio has two downloads

Download audio saves the playable audio representation used by the Report, which may be processed into a different format. Download format identifies the expected format; the saved extension follows the returned audio.

Download original (format) saves the original recording representation stored by CareMap. Use this when you need that file rather than its playback version. Neither action transcribes or edits the recording.

Form uploads and text previews

Form uploads offer Download original independently of the preview. Images, audio, and video can display inline; other files can offer Open preview.

For a supported plain-text upload, select the filename to open Text preview. The preview supports UTF-8 plain text up to 1 MiB, including ordinary ASCII. It does not guess unsupported encodings or display binary files as text.

  • This file is empty. is a valid empty preview.
  • For a load failure, choose Retry preview.
  • For an oversized or unsupported file, use Download original and open it in an appropriate application.

Previewing does not change the stored file.

Recover a failed download

Read the message, check the connection, and try the download control again. If access has expired, reload the Report to obtain current access. Pending processing can temporarily limit previews; a missing preview does not necessarily prevent downloading an available original.

Report detail cannot repair or replace missing captured evidence. Ask the person responsible for the workflow about the next step. For a complete record, use Report exports.
