Read Smart PDF answers and saved changes

Review completed answers, signatures, source information, and before-and-after changes.

Completed Smart PDFs retain their answers as well as the generated PDF. Profile Documents view access allows you to read both. Write access is required to open unfinished drafts or change answers.

Read a completed document

  1. Open the person's Documents tab.
  2. Select View on a completed Smart PDF.
  3. Select Answers to read the fields, or PDF to inspect the generated file.
  4. For an earlier revision, open History, choose its View action, then select Answers.

The Answers view identifies Current document or Historical document and the rendering time. It preserves field sections and order. Text answers appear in full, checkboxes display Yes / checked or No / unchecked, and empty values show Not answered. Typed and drawn signatures are displayed when available.

Reviewed profile values can show the source update time. Answers with retained source evidence offer Recorded sources, subject to current access. Opening a source does not change the saved answer. If shorter wording was accepted, the view separately shows Shorter text used in PDF beneath the full answer.

Open Answer changes

Select Answer changes in an unfinished draft or in the completed Answers view. The dialog lists recorded saved changes, newest first. Each entry shows the field, available section, actor name, time, and Save number.

Most entries show Before and After, including answer values, signatures, origin, review status, and separate PDF wording. A review-only change can show the review-status transition without duplicating the same answer.

Answer attributed to can differ from the person shown on the change event. For example, a wording adjustment can retain the original answer attribution. When the account name is unavailable, the display uses Former account.

Select Load older changes for the next page. Use Close answer history to return to the document. If the initial read fails, select Retry; a failed older-page read leaves already loaded entries visible.

Limits of the record

Answer changes excludes unsaved edits and changes from before recording was available. No recorded answer changes does not prove that the document was never edited.

The record belongs to the selected draft, or the draft that produced the selected completed revision. Starting an edit draft copies the answers but does not combine all earlier drafts' change logs. Use the document's revision History to inspect other completed versions.

Answer changes is a read-only record, with no restore or undo action. To revise current answers, use Edit answers. A missing source or signature may require renewed access or a retry; it does not automatically erase the saved answer or its recorded change.
