Ask AI for shorter Smart PDF wording
Generate a proposal from the saved full answer, review it, and accept it separately.
Suggest shorter wording… proposes a concise version of one saved text answer for its PDF box. It uses the full answer already in the draft; it does not research new sources or fill missing information.
The full answer remains saved. AI wording still needs human review, and the PDF preview determines whether it fits. A proposal is not a guarantee of a readable layout or unchanged meaning.
Prepare the answer
You need an unfinished Smart PDF draft and Profile Documents write access. Save a nonempty text answer and review any profile or research suggestion first. Attach or clear pending signature ink, and wait for document processing to finish.
Open PDF wording… beside the field, or Review wording for [field label] from a current preview's layout review. You can enter shorter wording manually without using AI; see manual wording.
Request and inspect
- Select Suggest shorter wording….
- Read Suggest shorter PDF wording? and the credit quote and payer.
- Choose Confirm AI charge to start, or Cancel.
- Wait for a ready proposal, then select Review AI suggestion.
- Read the explanation and compare the proposed wording with Full answer.
- Select Copy proposal into wording if you want to use it.
- Edit as needed, then choose Accept PDF wording to save it.
- Preview the PDF again and inspect all affected placements.
Copy proposal into wording only fills the wording editor. It does not save the proposal to the document. Closing or cancelling that dialog before acceptance leaves the saved wording unchanged.
Check all material facts, names, dates, numbers, negation, uncertainty, and conditions. The generated proposal must be shorter than the full answer. You can adjust it, subject to the wording editor's length limit.
Return later or recover
You may close the dialog while a suggestion is being prepared and return later. Use Refresh suggestion for status or Shortening history for prior attempts. Neither action starts another run.
A valid result may explain that no shorter wording was proposed. Write your own version or keep the full answer and let the renderer use continuation pages when needed. That completed AI attempt may still incur a charge.
An outdated proposal cannot be reused after the saved answer or wording changes. Return to the current wording to edit it or request a fresh suggestion. A failed attempt leaves the saved full answer intact. New attempts require a new charge confirmation; do not resubmit while provider billing is still being checked.
