Date and time answers

Use Date & Time when a player should record when something happened or is planned. The method can collect a date, a time, or both.

Add and configure the method

1. Open a Guide you can edit and select its Field block.
2. Add a Date & Time answer method and give it a clear label.
3. Choose whether to capture both values, only a date, or only a time.
4. Review the Field's required setting and the method's Report settings.
5. Save the block and preview the Guide to check the input.

Enter or update an answer

Use the date or time input to select a value. The timezone shown below the input identifies the player's local timezone. The current-value button fills in the current date or time; save the answer to confirm it.

To change an answer, edit the value and save again. To remove it, clear the input and save. Wait for saving to finish before leaving the page.

Required Fields and Reports

A required Field needs a saved answer from an enabled method before the player can continue. Including this method in Reports makes its saved answer available to people with Report access. Preview answers do not create a Report.

Fix common problems

• The input asks for the wrong information: Change the method's capture setting to a date, a time, or both.
• The value is invalid: Complete the displayed date and time inputs before saving.
• Saving fails: Check the connection and use Retry save.
• The timezone is unexpected: Check the timezone displayed beneath the input and the device's timezone settings before saving.
