Recover an interrupted Form submission
Retry an uncertain submission in the same open response and handle connection, sign-in, permission, or discard failures.
Keep the current Form open when submission is not confirmed. Your answers remain in that page while you resolve the problem, but a connection failure does not prove that the server failed to save the Report.
Retry after a connection interruption
- Keep the original tab or app page open. Avoid reloading or starting another response.
- Read the persistent submission notice. A connection or service interruption offers Retry submission.
- Wait for connectivity or service to recover.
- Select Retry submission in this same response.
- Wait for Form submitted, then select View report and check the saved answers and About subject.
This retry confirms the same submission. If the original request succeeded but its response was lost, CareMap returns the existing Report instead of creating another one.
Do not treat a retry as a way to edit an already accepted response. If you change answers after an uncertain result, a retry can still return the originally saved Report. Inspect that Report before deciding whether a replacement is needed.
Match recovery to the message
- Sign-in is no longer valid: Restore sign-in before trying again. There is no guarantee that signing in or changing accounts preserves this open Form. Preserve necessary answers appropriately before leaving it.
- Permission is no longer available: Ask the Form owner to restore access, then try again. Repeated retries cannot grant permission.
- Form changed: Follow Review updated Form, which retains compatible answers for review.
- Other submission error: Read the error, check the answers, and resolve the reported issue before selecting Submit Form again.
- Upload error: Resolve the individual field using upload answer recovery before submitting.
A transient error toast can disappear while the persistent notice remains. Use that notice to understand whether submission is confirmed.
Understand response retention
Answers remain in the current page's memory. They are not a saved response draft, an offline submission queue, or a cross-device resume feature. The Form builder's Saved drafts protects authoring work, not filled answers.
Reloading, closing, or navigating away can lose unsubmitted values. A browser may warn about leaving after edits; that warning is not a saved copy. If the page is already gone after an uncertain submission, check Form Reports in the appropriate workspace before filling another response.
Exit deliberately
Select Exit Form to leave. After edits, the discard dialog offers Cancel to keep filling or Discard to end the unfinished response. Discarding does not create a Report or erase a Report already submitted.
If discard fails, CareMap keeps the page and answers open. Retry when the problem is resolved, or select Cancel. During uploading, submission, or updated-Form loading, wait for the operation before exiting.
