Administration
Manage a user's sign-in and activation
Resend first-time setup, manage email/password sign-in, and distinguish activation from account setup.
Global administrators use a user's Sign-in tab to help with first-time setup and sign-in methods. These changes affect the selected account.
Resend first-time setup
- Open Admin → Access → Users and select the account.
- Open Sign-in and check Account activation.
- For Setup pending, check the displayed recipient email.
- Select Resend setup.
- Read the delivery result and any displayed expiration.
- Ask the recipient to use the newest setup email and choose their password.
Every resend replaces the previous setup link. An already-completed email/password setup cannot be resent; use the normal password recovery process instead.
Account creation and successful email delivery are separate outcomes. If delivery fails or is unavailable, the account can still exist. Retry delivery from that account instead of creating another account.
Setup pending is shown when the account has an email but no active email/password method. Review any other listed sign-in methods too; this label does not prove that the account has never signed in through another method.
Add or update email/password sign-in
- Confirm the selected account's identity.
- In Sign-in, enter Email and Password.
- Follow the password requirements and select Save email/password.
- Review the refreshed method list and activation state.
This can replace the account's existing email/password method, including its password and account email. An email already belonging to another account cannot be used. A changed address needs activation; saving the same address can retain its existing verification.
The password is not shown in the method list. A saved method does not mean a new setup email was sent.
Activate an account
Needs activation means the email has not been verified. The user can verify their email.
When offered, Force activate marks the account's email as activated without requiring the user to finish email verification. It does not choose a password or complete a pending password setup. The control is hidden during Setup pending; finish setup or provision email/password first.
Remove a sign-in method
Check the method name, identifier, and Last used information, then select its Remove action. Removal is unavailable when it is the only active method. Add another working method first.
Removing email/password also clears the account's stored email and password. Review the remaining sign-in method before making that change.
If a save succeeds but refreshed details fail to load, select Retry or reopen the account and check the result before repeating it. Keep private credentials out of support messages and screenshots.
