Manage Profile Document types
Configure the preset labels people can choose when pinning files to a CareMap profile.
Profile Document Types is the administrator-managed catalog of preset labels people can choose when adding a file to a CareMap profile. CareMap includes ISP by default. People may also choose Other and enter their own label.
The catalog defines choices; it does not contain anyone's private files.
Open Profile Document Types
- Sign in with an administrator account.
- Open Admin > Content > Profile Document Types.
- Review each type's label, key, description, status, order, and current use.
If your account is not an administrator, CareMap does not load this catalog.
Add a type
Select Add type, then enter:
- a user-facing Label;
- an immutable machine-readable Key;
- a clear Description of the documents that belong in the type;
- its display Order; and
- whether it is Active.
Descriptions should explain the document's purpose without including a real person's private information. They are catalog guidance and may support future file-type suggestions; CareMap does not automatically classify files in this release.
Edit, order, or deactivate types
Use a row's edit action to change its label, description, order, or status. The key remains fixed so existing Profile Documents keep a stable category.
Use the ordering controls to change how active preset choices appear in the upload dialog. Deactivate a type when it should no longer be offered for new files. Deactivation does not delete existing files or their revision history. There is no catalog delete action.
Review usage safely
The usage count shows how many Profile Document items currently use a type. It does not reveal filenames, document contents, owners, or revision history.
When troubleshooting, record the type label, key, status, visible error, and approximate time. Do not share private care content, uploaded files, account credentials, raw storage paths, or temporary download links through an unapproved channel.
