Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot notifications
Check supported settings when an expected CareMap notification does not arrive.
CareMap notifications are used for supported reminders, such as scheduled Guide work. They depend on the reminder being current, your account being enrolled, and the browser or device allowing notifications.
Check the reminder first
- Confirm you are signed in to the account and workspace where the work was scheduled.
- Open Schedule or Home and confirm the Guide, assignment, or reminder still appears for the expected person and time.
- If the item was skipped, completed, or acknowledged, CareMap may no longer send an active reminder for it.
- If the item was snoozed, wait until the new snooze time.
- If the reminder shows a failed or retry state, use the visible Retry reminder action when it is available.
CareMap validates reminder launch links before opening the Guide. A reminder can stop working if the schedule changed, the Guide is no longer available, or your access changed after the reminder was created.
Check Reminder enrollment
When Reminder enrollment is available, review these fields before changing device settings:
| Field | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Web push | The provider should be ready. Disabled, Missing config, or Missing public key means browser reminders cannot enroll right now. |
| Browser permission | Use Enable or Reconnect only when the browser is supported and permission is not denied. |
| This browser | Should show Enrolled for browser reminders on this browser. |
| Native push | Applies to packaged mobile clients that support native push reminders. |
| Mobile local | Applies to packaged mobile clients that can schedule reminders on this device. |
| Native permission | Should be Granted for mobile reminders. Denied means the device is blocking notifications. |
| This device | Should show Enrolled for mobile reminders on this device. |
If a browser or mobile device is enrolled but reminders still do not arrive, use Revoke or Revoke mobile, then enroll again with Enable, Reconnect, Enable mobile, or Reconnect mobile.
Browser reminders
Browser reminders use the browser's notification and push support. If they do not arrive:
- Allow notifications for the CareMap site in the browser or operating system.
- Keep the browser profile that enrolled the reminder. Clearing site data, changing profiles, or revoking notification permission can remove the local subscription.
- Return to CareMap and reconnect the browser if This browser is Not enrolled.
- If CareMap shows that notifications, service workers, or push subscriptions are unavailable, use another supported browser or a packaged mobile client when one is available.
Mobile reminders
Packaged mobile clients can support Native push or Mobile local reminders. If mobile reminders do not arrive:
- Allow notifications for CareMap in the device's system settings.
- Open CareMap while signed in to the same account so the device can enroll or reconnect.
- In Settings > Mobile & Offline, check Native Readiness for push registration and local notification scheduling.
- If Native notifications are unavailable in this runtime, use browser reminders or another device that supports mobile notifications.
- If Send test in 5 seconds is shown for a native push subscription, use it to confirm the device can receive a test notification.
What to share if it still fails
Share the workspace, Guide or assignment name, scheduled time, device or browser, visible enrollment labels, and any Last delivery issue message with your administrator or CareMap support. Do not send notification endpoints, device identifiers, push tokens, launch links, or private care details through an unapproved support channel.
